Grotesquerie season 1 episode 7 is coming to FX next Wednesday, October 16, 2024. The next episode could get nasty for the Ryan Murphy horror show's protagonist, Detective Lois Tryon.
Six episodes in, Detective Lois is nowhere closer to putting the killer who has been taunting the town with horrific murders to justice. That said, this week's double-header ended in an explosive cliffhanger that could make viewers think the end was near.
Detective Lois has put a bullet in his masked attacker's head after a series of grotesque murders at the end of episode 6. He could very well be the killer she's been hunting. However, the Grotesquerie season 1 episode 7 preview by FX, shared on YouTube on October 10, suggests that Lois' search for the killer is far from over. The preview sees Lois and Eddie getting into a tense exchange, teasing more from what Travis Kelce's character has shown so far.
There's more of Travis Kelce's "Eddie" character in Grotesquerie season 1 episode 7
So far, Travis Kelce's hotly anticipated character as Eddie Laclan, aka "Fast Eddie" as Detective Lois sometimes calls him, has been pretty tame. His first appearance in episode 3 was a little bizarre.
He met the detective at the hospital, where it was revealed that he is an orderly working there. He lit Lois' cigarette and suggested she shouldn't drive while inebriated. The next time they met was when the detective asked him to help her escape the hospital. Episode 3's ending saw them holding hands, running around the hospital hallways, and into a red convertible in slow motion, with eerie music playing in the background.
Next, they had a date, which happened to be an AA meeting. During a shared meal afterward, Eddie reveals to the detective that he's a recovering alcoholic. By episode 4, Eddie has become a trusted person in Lois' circle, or at least he trusts her enough to take care of Merritt while she's gone.
But as seen in Ryan Murphy's Grotesquerie episode 7 preview, there's more for viewers to expect from the NFL star's character, and it teases something explosive. The teaser stars with the detective sitting together at the restaurant with Eddie and Merritt and Lois confessing about her and Eddie, saying:
"Fast Eddie and I had a little thing. A dirty, nasty thing."
Meanwhile, Eddie, who is sitting beside Merritt, attempts to keep things cordial by telling Lois not to get "messy" in front of her daughter or she's "going to regret it." The confrontation turns ugly, with the next scene showing the detective throwing a glass in fury as she's about to storm out of the restaurant.
Whatever happens at the restaurant and whatever is said at that table between Lois, Eddie, and Merritt, the detective's explosive action teases something serious and nasty.
Grotesquerie season 1 episode 7 sees Lois realize that her search for Mr. Grotesquerie is far from over
After the explosive scene with Eddie and Merritt at the restaurant, the episode 7 preview of the FX horror series sees the detective poring over clues to uncover the mysteries of Mr. Grotesquerie's murders. As she flips through a cult-like book looking for clues and references, Lois says:
"The viciousness of these murders, he would need an accomplice."
The detective thinks the killer couldn't have done all the murders alone, and she plans on finding out who the killer's cronies are. The 40-second trailer then takes a twisted turn as it teases that "everything is about to change." Lights then start glitching, and screams echo in the scene before the detective is seen with her face battered and bruised and aiming her gun at something or someone.
