Grotesquerie season 1 returns next week with an unusual single-episode release after three weeks of back-to-back releases. The new FX horror series will air its seventh episode on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, on FX, bringing a much-needed conclusion from the previous episode's cliffhanger.

Previously, in Grotesquerie season 1, a lead from Maisie sent the detective and the police to an abandoned building where women were being milked like cows to feed stolen babies. In the building, Lois walked into a room with a picture wall. While she focused on the pictures, a masked man appeared behind her, ready to slit her throat. However, the detective shoots him before he can inflict harm.

As the detective looks at the man's face after she takes his mask, the episode ends before his identity is revealed to the audience. Grotesquerie season 1 episode 7 is expected to bring answers as to who the person who wanted to kill the detective was and if he's been the serial killer all along.

A brief recap of Grotesquerie season 1 episode 6

Grotesquerie season 1 episode 6 is titled Good Caesarean Work, referring to the murder from episode 5. The mystery behind the murder of pregnant women continues in episode 6, where Detective Lois meets a person from her past who will bring her closer to the killer's lair.

Glorious, a former human trafficker, tells the detective about the killer during their conversation at the trailer park. She reveals that the killer is a false prophet who wants Lois to become a martyr. Glorious also reveals that she sent Maisie to the detective and that the other woman was a congregate of the killer.

Maisie is currently at the mental hospital after the detective promised that she would hold her there until the case is solved. But, after some prompting from the detective, Maisie reveals where the lost babies have gone. The next scene sees the detective and a tac team raid a milk bottling plant, and inside, they see several women hooked in tubes, being milked like cows to directly feed the babies with their breast milk.

As the police free the women and the babies to safety, the detective goes into a room where she finds a picture wall with her images. As she inspects the photos, a man, wearing a mask and holding a kitchen knife, suddenly appears behind her, ready to slit her throat. However, the detective quickly turns and shoots the attacker, killing him in an instant.

What to expect in Grotesquerie season 1 episode 7?

Before the face of the killer is revealed in episode 6, the scene fades to black, and the episode ends. With its cliffhanger ending, the seventh episode of the newest FX horror series is even more anticipated. It's expected to reveal the identity of the man behind the mask.

The previous episode also teased Sister Megan finally waking up at the hospital after getting shot in episode 5. Whether or not she will be back to help Lois find the serial killer remains unknown, but the next episode is anticipated to share some details about what's next for the nun.
