Grotesquerie Season 1 episodes 3 and 4 are set to air on October 2, 2024. They will bring more gruesome crimes that promise to rattle Detective Lois, excite Sister Megan, and wreak havoc on their small town.
Previously, in the 2-episode series premiere, the show didn't wait too long to lay out the grotesque killing that the show promises. A horrific crime scene was seen early in episode 1, with an entire family murdered in the kitchen of their home with their mouths stuffed with human meat and organs. Detective Lois, the police, and Sister Megan investigate the murders as the killer runs on a rampage and kills even more people.
So far, in the 2-episode premiere of Ryan Murphy's Grotesquerie Season 1, a family, two men, a suspected killer, and a group of unhoused people were killed by one named "Grotesquerie," per the calling card left in one of the crime scenes. Detective Lois and Sister Megan are expected to work together in the next two episodes to find the real killer.

A brief recap of Grotesquerie Season 1 episode 1 & 2
Brutal murders wreak havoc in a small town, and Detective Lois, with the help of the police, tries to find clues that will bring them closer to the killer. A nun who is also a reporter, Sister Megan, wants to help and offers her many theories to help find the serial killer faster.
Grotesquerie Season 1 premiere quickly started with a horrific murder scene early in Episode 1. A whole family died, and the scene was enough to make the police vomit. A mother and her two children were positioned on the dining table with their hands tied on their backs using a cable wire. Their mouths were stuffed with human organs, which appear to be organs from the father, whose headless body is lying on the kitchen floor. Meanwhile, the baby in the family was cooked in a boiling pot.
Before Detective Lois finds any clue about the murder, another killing happens. This time, two men were cut up and pasted on the wall. Their bodies were drained of blood, and the police couldn't find even a drop of blood anywhere. However, the same acrid smell of the still unknown fluid follows the second crime scene.
The same grotesque picture of murders follows Detective Lois and Sister Megan in Grotesquerie Season 1, episode 2. The detective had found a lead on the killer, a guy named Sullivan Firkus, whom she said was an organ harvester who had recently gotten out of jail. But when they went to Firkus' mom's house, they found his dead body with his mom, who was beside herself and spouting some Bible verses.
When the detective discovers that Firkus has been dead for weeks, they know that he isn't the killer they were looking for. However, she discovered a clue about the killer when she found a note tucked under a kidney dish. The killer signed the note with the name "Grotesquerie."
In the final scenes of episode 2, the unlikely detective and nun duo are horrified by another staged crime scene—a group of unhoused people, one of which the detective has interacted with, were posed like the Last Supper. Now, Detective Lois and Sister Megan are more curious about the killings, the killer's motivations, and why the crime scenes have disturbing Biblical tableaus.
What to expect in Grotesquerie Season 1 episodes 3 & 4
Grotesquerie Season 1, episodes 3 and 4 promise more bone-chilling and gruesome action as the serial killer remains on the loose. The following episodes remain untitled, but the official logline for episode 3 teases Detective Lois finding comfort in an unexpected person.
Who that person is remains unknown, as well as what the "comfort" implies, which can be romantic or emotional. After all, the series premiere gave a sneak peek at her troubled marriage with her husband, who is currently in a coma. The "comfort" could also mean professionally, as the detective has been visibly shaken about not having any clue about the murders, as seen during her conversation with Sister Megan at the restaurant in episode 2.
As for Episode 4, it teases Detective Lois, finding clues about the murders and the killer, which will bring her to a remote location. The detective already thinks that the murders are personal, and the subsequent episodes will hopefully shed more light on the killings.
Catch the latest episodes of Grotesquerie Season 1 on FX on the release date. The same episodes will be available to stream on Hulu the next day.
