Harlem season 3 premiere saw Camille decide on keeping the baby
Camille made some of the biggest decisions in her life in the Harlem season 3 premiere, from leaving her work at Columbia and finally moving on from Ian to deciding on keeping her surprise pregnancy.
Harlem season 3 premiere revealed that Camille was expecting, but she was conflicted about whether to keep the baby or terminate the pregnancy at first. Being already 12 months pregnant didn't help matters because she only had a small window to decide if she ever chose to get a termination. Her friends were always there to support her, but they couldn't make the decision for her.
At the time that she learned she was pregnant, however, she already ended her no-strings relationship with Ian. He now had a new woman in his life, his childhood friend Portia, and they were getting serious. The news of the baby complicated things for both of them, especially since they called it quits in their relationship because Camille didn't want kids, and Portia's arrival only added to the complication.
While Ian promised that he would be there for Camille and the baby and that they could co-parent when the time came after she announced the pregnancy, he didn't want to break up with Portia and give up his new relationship. It meant Camille would have to do it alone if she decided to keep the baby, but that wasn't her only fear. She was scared that she would be a bad mom or an absentee mom like her mother.
However, Camille realized that she could be a good mom if she chose to be after talking with Aunt Tammy because at the end of the Harlem season 3 premiere, she texted Ian about her decision.
"I decided not to let fear keep me from being a mom," she said.
She also congratulated him for being a dad. Meanwhile, Ian was at a fertility clinic with Portia, deciding about their future children.
A conversation with Aunt Tammy changed Camille's decision about the pregnancy
Camille had a conversation with Tammy, Ian's aunt, in the Harlem season 3 premiere that changed her perspective about being a good mom. Tammy told Camille that she had once terminated her pregnancy but that Camille had to choose the option that would give her fewer regrets. Tammy also made Camille understand that she wasn't her mother and that she could choose to be a good mom to her kid like Ian's mother, Regina, did.
Tammy opened up about Ian being a surprise baby, something that his mother or Tammy never wanted because they, too, grew up with a flaky mom like Camille. However, Regina decided to keep Ian and became a great mom. Tammy further told her that Regina wasn't their mother any more than Camille would be like her mother.
Quinn lands a new romance and a client in Harlem season 3 premiere
Early in Harlem season 3, Quinn was all about putting herself first over obsessing about her dating life. She was focused on being herself and her work and was happy to do all those things, too. But in a twist of fate, she met someone when she least expected it.
Lala introduced Quinn to Seth during a party, and they instantly hit it off. However, she made it clear that while she was entertaining him, she still wasn't at a point in her life to want a serious relationship or to put labels on what they had. Seth was agreeable about just enjoying themselves together because he, too, didn't want to be tied down to one person, and they hooked up.
The following morning, Seth received some bad news about his outfit for the ESPY Awards being lost. It was last minute, but Quinn had an idea how to help. She hooked him up with her connection at the Bergdorf, adding that she would alter whatever he chose to make it custom-fit. At the ESPYs, Seth gave a shout out to Quinn, his "new stylist," when he was complimented about his outfit, making her the new hotshot stylist in town.
