Following the developments in the show's recent episode, HBO released a preview teaser for House of the Dragon season 2 episode 6 on July 15, 2024, on YouTube. The 1:11-minute preview for the show's sixth episode opens with Rhaenyra's "It has never been attempted before," indicating to tame the wild and riderless dragons that nest beneath the Dragonstone.
The preview proceeds with several visuals of Rhaenyra and Alicent contemplating the decisions they have made in the past, leading up to the circumstances that plague them at present. The short preview also shows Rhaenyra giving up on the thought of Daemon's return to Dragostone and her willingness to continue with the war alone.

Rhaenyra no longer entrusts Daemon with the war in House of the Dragon season 2
Rhaenyra is convinced she must fight the war between the Greens and the Blacks without Daemon. This comes after several failed attempts by Rhaenyra to convince Daemon to act on her orders.
While she acknowledges that Daemon's involvement in the war will make things easier for her, she cannot rely on him after he has constantly disobeyed her and worked at his own discretion.
In the preview teaser, when Jacaerys claims that without Daemon, the Blacks will not be able to face the strength of the Green armies, Rhaenyra expresses her anger and disappointment through her facial expressions. In the next shot, Rhaenyra is seen storming inside while a voiceover says:
"I must now proceed as if I stand alone."
In another scene from the preview, Rhaenyra comes face-to-face with Daemon, whom she reminds that he has forgotten to fear her and holds herself responsible for it.
Aemond has taken control of the war for the Greens in House of the Dragon season 2
After Aegon got severely injured during the Battle of Rook's Rest, he became bedridden, implying that he would not be able to partake in the war anytime soon.
Aemond, Aegon's younger brother, used the circumstances in his favor and managed to secure the role of Prince Regent, a title held by someone who takes care of the realm in the King's absence.
Aemond can now make all the important decisions concerning the war. He also has Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, Ser Criston Cole, under his clutches, who recently has been exclusively working on his orders.
War will be fought between Dragons, not people
Throughout House of the Dragon season 2, there have been various hints concerning Dance of the Dragons, the devastating fight between Rhaenyra's allies and Aegon II's armies that resulted in multiple casualties on both sides. The stage of the war has already been laid, with various civil wars preceding the great conflict that is yet to come.
This war, as George R.R. Martin's ardent fans would know, had led to widespread destruction on both sides of the war but most importantly, it had led to the extinction of the dragon race and consequently the stronghold of the Targaryens, whose source of power was the dragons.
House of the Dragon season 2 episode 6 will be aired on HBO on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at 9 pm ET. Consecutively, the episode will also be released on Max the same day.
