The sixth episode of House of the Dragon season 2 premiered last week on July 21, 2024, and saw the tide shift in favor of House Black. The episode, which was titled Smallfolk, saw Rhaenyra use her tactics to gain some goodwill in King's Landing. With the common folk suffering, she sent them gifts while those in the castle wined and dined grandly.

Warning: Spoilers for the show to follow.

House of the Dragon season 2 episode 6 also saw Seasmoke finally receive a rider. However, the identity of the rider wasn't revealed. Going into episode 7, the major thing that fans can expect is to see exactly who tamed Seasmoke.

Alongside that, fans can also expect a budding romance between Rhaenyra and Mysaria, as well as the Smallfolk of King's Landing growing further frustrated.

What can fans expect from House of the Dragon season 2 episode 7?

Addam of Hull is Seasmoke's new rider

The major event fans can expect from House of the Dragon season 2 episode 7 is for Addam of Hull to be Seasmoke's new rider. Episode 6 ended on a huge cliffhanger with Rhaenyra flying out to see who tamed Seasmoke, but Fire & Blood and the events of the episode can easily answer that question.

During the episode, Seasmoke began chasing Addam, and when the dragon had him cornered, he realized that the beast meant him no harm. In the source material, it's revealed that Addam of Hull is the individual who tames Seasmoke. With him now having a dragon to himself, Rhaenyra will have gained an ally as well.

This would also mark the beginning of the Sowing, proving that anyone who comes from the Velaryon bloodline can indeed tame a dragon. As Addam is the illegitimate child of Lord Corlys, we can also expect his father to finally recognize him.

Rhaenyra and Mysaria acknowledge the kiss

House of the Dragon season 2 episode 6 saw Rhaenyra doubt whether she can win the war or not. However, in a time of confusion, she received comfort from Mysaria. Assuring Rhaenyra that she deserved to be queen, Mysaria had some great things to say about the rightful ruler.

This led to Rhaenyra hugging Mysaria as the two then shared a kiss. While it was cut short by the news of Seasmoke being tamed, fans can expect this setup to continue going forward in the show. It is clear that both of them have earned each other's trust.

This could also lead to a conflict with Daemon as he remains Rhaenyra's husband, but with him being in Harrenhal now, it remains to be seen what his dynamic with her will be.

Unrest in King's Landing

One of the big moments of House of the Dragon season 2 episode 6 was Rhaenyra sending food and gifts through the sea to King's Landing. With the smallfolk discovering them, they turned on Aemond and his kingdom as everyone had been starving.

Going further into the season, fans can expect to see that tide shift further. With Rhaenyra finally having some goodwill among the common folk, the Greens won't be viewed positively anymore.

Fans can check out the new episode of House of the Dragon season 2 when it premieres tonight, July 28, 2024, on Max.
