The seventh episode of House of the Dragon season 2 laid down the groundwork for the upcoming finale. Premiering on 28 July 2024, titled The Red Sowing, the episode saw Rhaenyra raise an army of bastards who share Valyrian lineage. In doing so, she recruits Addam of Hull, Hugh, and Ulf to ride Seasmoke, Vermithor, and Silverwing respectively.

The penultimate episode of House of the Dragon season 2 ended with Ulf riding Silverwing over King's Landing, and then Aemond chasing him down to Dragonstone. There, Rhaenyra made it known that she has dragons of her own and has leveled the playing field.

With so much having gone down, fans can expect a huge finale. From Rhaenyra seeking out Daemon to making a play for the Iron Throne as well, it definitely looks like it's going to be an exciting finale.

What can fans expect from House of the Dragon season 2's finale?

Rhaenyra seeking out Daemon

Now that Rhaenyra finally has an army of Dragons with her, all she requires is an army of men. With Daemon raising one at Harrenhal, seemingly for himself though, fans can expect Rhaenyra to finally seek him out. However, there is definitely a huge chance of the interaction going a bit wrong as Daemon has been raising it for himself.

Given that Rhaenyra and Daemon's relationship has soured over the season, we could perhaps see him be hesitant to let his army go. However, with Rhaenyra now having more power over him, perhaps he might just give up the army. This might also lead to Daemon joining her side again as well.

With this, Rhaenyra would then have a lot more dragons to her name. But it remains to be seen exactly where Daemon's visions will lead him to as well. Considering that Harrenhal has been playing out like a horror movie for him - his own self-esteem has definitely taken a hit.

Rhaenyra striking while she has the chance

With Rhaenyra now having the upper hand over Aemond and the army at King's Landing, fans can expect to see her lead the charge and strike while she has the chance. In the promo for House of the Dragon season 2's finale, we can see her getting her army ready to lead an attack.

It remains to be seen where the battle might take place, but one thing's for sure - the dragons are going to get involved. Aemond can be seen asking Helaena to lead Dreamfyre into battle as well. Everything, right now, hints at a big battle set to happen soon - and it certainly looks like the finale is going to deliver on that front.

Aegon being made aware of Aemond's plans

In the teaser for House of the Dragon season 2's finale, Lord Larys Strong can be seen talking to Aegon about what Aemond plans to do. This can further lead to how in his injuries, Aegon will grow to despise Aemond even further. Given that it was Aemond who put Aegon in the situation he currently is in, he surely is harboring some ill will towards his brother.

With the council at King's Landing being taken aback by Aemond's rule as well, they will surely be hoping for Aegon to get back on the throne as he was more receptive to their ideas.
