Creature Commandos' release is right around the corner. With the first two episodes releasing next week on December 5, 2024, on Max, fans will get the first sneak peek into this brand new DC Universe that DC Studios' co-president James Gunn is developing. The show will feature several creatures being assembled for a dangerous mission by Amanda Waller and being led by Rick Flag Sr.
In Creature Commandos, fans will get to see different DC characters. The show boasts a huge cast of actors like Frank Grillo, Indira Varma, David Harbour, Maria Bakalova, Anya Chalotra, Viola Davis, and Alan Tudyk.
Moreover, it has been confirmed that Alan Tudyk will be voicing three different roles in the DC show: Doctor Phosphorous, Clayface, and Will Magnus.

In Creature Commandos, Alan Tudyk will be playing the role of Doctor Phosphorous. That will be the main character he will be voicing, as Phosphorous is a part of the titular group as well. In the show, his character remains constantly radioactive thanks to a nuclear accident. Being a skeleton surrounded by radiation, he is quite powerful in his own regard.
Additionally, Tudyk will be voicing two smaller roles in the show too, with one of them being Clayface. Tudyk will be stepping into the role of the iconic Batman villain in the series. While he already portrayed the villain once in the Harley Quinn series, here will be portraying a more monstrous version of Basil Karlo, the metahuman who can change his appearance.
The third character Tudyk will be voicing in the series is the villain Will Magnus. In the comics, Will Magnus was responsible for creating the Metal Men as well, and he is a brilliant scientist who unfortunately suffers from a debilitating mental illness.
Sean Gunn also portrays multiple characters in Creature Commandos
However, it's not only Alan Tudyk who will be portraying multiple characters in the upcoming show. Actor Sean Gunn will also voice two members of the titular team in the show—Weasel and G.I. Robot. Gunn has already portrayed Weasel once in live-action in The Suicide Squad. The character is an anthropomorphic weasel and quite dangerous.
On the other hand, G.I. Robot is a robot specifically made to kill Nazis. The show will explore how being out of war robs G.I. Robot of his purpose.
What is Creature Commandos about?
The upcoming DC animated show is created by James Gunn and will be the official beginning of the new DC Universe under the DC Studios banner. The official logline of the show reads as:
"CREATURE COMMANDOS tracks a secret team of incarcerated monsters recruited for missions deemed too dangerous for humans. When all else fails… they’re your last, worst option."
The show will establish a brand new DC canon and continuity that all further DC projects will follow from now on. However, a few moments from The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker will be canon in this continuity.
