The 2024 NFL Christmas Day games made several headlines on December 25, 2024. Firstly, it was the first time that a halftime performance was staged during an NFL Christmas Gameday, and secondly, it marked the debut of live NFL football on Netflix.
Beyoncé stole the limelight with an electric performance at the 2024 NFL Christmas Day. Not only did the global star set the stage on fire with tracks from her latest album, a few other icons also joined her during the performance.
As per a report published by Andscape on December 23, 2024, Beyoncé reportedly got paid $20 million by Netflix for her 2024 Christmas Day performance. This is part of a deal between the artist and Netflix.
Taking the deal into consideration, Dan Runchie, founder of Trapital, a company that provides insights into music and sports, told Andscape:
“If we believe this to be true, then that’s $20M specifically for this performance.”
Beyoncé’s payment for the NFL Christmas Day performance
Beyoncé’s segment was produced by Parkwood Entertainment and Jesse Collins Entertainment. As per a report published by The Independent on December 26, 2024, her NFL halftime performance is ‘part of a $60 million three-project’ struck between the artist and Netflix in 2019.
Given the agreement of $60 million for three projects, it is speculated that the artist received $20 million specifically for the NFL performance. Her first project as part of the deal came in 2019 in the form of the concert film documentary Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé.
Homecoming featured Beyoncé’s headlining slot at the 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
