The Acolyte's finale episode on July 16, 2024, was all about cameos. After the not-so-subtle appearance of the Dark Sith Lord, Darth Plagueis, at the beginning of the episode, the audience witnessed the dawn of one of the most famous characters in the Star Wars franchise towards the end of the episode, namely, Master Yoda.
Although his screen presence was short-lived, it was enough to get the audience excited. Mainly because they had not anticipated his arrival. Soon after the news of his emergence gained traction, Star Wars fans started theorizing about Yoda's age in the show.
Given that the events of The Acolyte take place towards the end of the High Republic era and 100 years before the events of the Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, Yoda is approximately 764 years old in the show.

How is Yoda 764 years old in The Acolyte?
According to the Star Wars franchise, Yoda was born in 896 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin). The High Republic era in which the events of the Star Wars: The High Republic were set ran approximately between 500 BBY to 100 BBY which makes Yoda approximately 796 years old by the end of it.
Now, Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace covered the incidents of the year 32 BBY when Yoda was approximately 864 years old. So if The Acolyte is set towards the end of the High Republic era 100 years before the Phantom Menace, then that makes Yoda approximately 764 years old.
Yoda's appearance in The Acolyte was kept under wraps
Leslye Headland appeared on several talk shows and gave interviews to major publications as part of promotions for The Acolyte season 1. However, whenever she was asked about possible cameos from popular Star Wars characters in her show she either deflected the question or gave a confusing answer.
With Yoda's appearance in the latest episode of the show, the closest Headland came to confirming his cameo in the show was during a chat with ComicBook.com. When asked about the expected cameos in the show, Headland said that there were none.
Headland also harped on the fact that the characters that would be depicted in the series would strictly belong to the High Republic Era insinuating that Yoda's appearance in it was a big no. She said during the interview:
"Can you imagine? Can you imagine if they were like, 'No problem, you can use Yoda. Not a big deal. Go for it.' No, there is not... We are pulling characters from the High Republic and characters from EU, but that's it."
