CW’s reboot of the classic game show, Scrabble, recently premiered on October 3, 2024. The series, hosted by former Disney star Raven-Symone, pits contestants against each other on a giant scrabble board, as they compete using their vocabulary to win major prizes.

The series’ first episode recently aired at 8 pm ET, with newer episodes set to be released every Thursday. The show is effectively a reboot of the 1980s version of Scrabble, albeit with a range of revamps.

The series has the following official synopsis:

“Wordsmiths compete in challenging word games to score points and control a giant Scrabble board, displaying strategic skill and mastery of language.”

Scrabble can be caught live on CW at 8 pm ET every Friday. It will also be available to view live on Fubo TV, where episodes can be streamed as well.

This time around, the series will be hosted by none other than Raven-Symone, who fans will know for his stint with Disney. The series attempts to recreate the excitement of the original show while integrating various new elements to make it ideal for modern viewers.

First and foremost, the series can be watched live on CW on cable TV. The first episode of the series aired recently on October 3, 2024, at 8 pm ET. Now, newer episodes will be available in the same time slot every Thursday. Episode 2 will therefore air on October 10, 2024, at 8 pm ET.

However, for viewers who end up missing the live telecast, Scrabble will also be available to watch on Fubo TV, which also offers a free trial. Fubo TV also allows users to stream episodes online, giving them two specific ways to watch the series.

What to expect from Scrabble?

Scrabble will majorly deal with the familiar tropes people associate with the actual game. It will pit contestants against each other in a race against the clock, as they will attempt to form high-scoring words on a massive game board. Produced by Mattel Television and Hasbro Entertainment, each episode will feature a grand prize of $10,000.

Contestants from varying backgrounds will come together to compete against each other. Fans can also expect Raven-Symone’s charismatic presence to make the show even more entertaining.

Symone becomes a part of Scrabble around a year after her Disney stint, via Raven's Home, came to an end. The host claimed the following of her new stint, according to Gaye Magazine:

"I was so honored when I was asked to host Scrabble because I am a game player. I play games all the time and when the opportunity came to host one of the most iconic game boards ever I jumped at the opportunity. It is a good healthy competition game and with this version we are bringing people together."

This is not the first time Raven-Symone has been seen hosting a game show. She previously acted as the host for ABC's The View.
