During a recent interview on Amazon Live, Kyle Richards, an American actress and socialite, talked about how she felt regarding her co-star Crystal Kung Minkoff leaving The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
When asked by a fan on Wednesday, April 17, about Minkoff's departure from the show, she expressed her "mixed feelings" and said:
“It made me sad, of course... [but] I have kind of mixed feelings. Not because of her, just because... life is great without reality television, too.”
Kyle Richards' comments came after contestant Crystal Kung Minkoff decided to quit the show after three seasons on the Bravo reality series. Regarding the same, Minkoff recently said in an Instagram video:
“I just wanted to share the news that I will not be coming back to film Season 14 of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. It’s very bittersweet. Never did I think I would’ve been asked to do this show in a million years — let alone film it for three seasons.”
Kyle Richards opened up about Crystal Kung Minkoff’s exit from RHOBH
In a video uploaded on April 15, Crystal Kung Minkoff announced that she is leaving the show after three seasons and will not be returning for Season 14 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The mother of the three said:
“Every single year I was asked back, it was a blessing. It was an honor. Being the first Asian American in Beverly Hills was a lot of weight on my shoulders that I have since just have really understood the magnitude of what that means for people.”
Reacting to the same, Kyle Richards, while appearing for an interview on Amazon Live, said that she is confident Minkoff will enjoy her time away from the limelight.
However, she also stated that she felt conflicted about Minkoff's exit from the upcoming season. She went on to say that it made her sad, but that it wasn't her fault, adding that Crystal Kung Minkoff's life would be wonderful even without reality TV. She further added:
“So it's not like, 'Oh my god, poor Crystal!' She has a great family, and there's a lot of say for not doing [reality TV]. She's gonna be great.”
Meanwhile, regarding her future with RHOBH, Kyle Richards emphasized that no decision has been made formally. She shared:
“I haven't said anything yet. I know there's reports online that I'm not coming back, or that I am coming back. That conversation is TBD.”
Also, it should be noted that when Minkoff returned on season 11, which aired in 2021, she became the first Asian American cast member on RHOBH. She soon gained popularity for her noteworthy exchanges and disagreements with her co-stars.
Meanwhile, Us Weekly reported that Crystal Kung Minkoff is reportedly "devastated" about leaving The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The same report also stated she was fired. It read:
“She was fired because she didn’t deliver. Producers told her she doesn’t have a storyline, so they had to let her go.”
Since then, Minkoff hasn't said anything about the whole situation. On the other hand, there is also uncertainty over Kyle Richards's potential comeback. However, as her performance on the show has been well received, her fans believe she will return for the next season.
