The upcoming episode of In Pursuit With John Walsh brings the cold-blooded murder of Briseida Guillen to its viewers. Briseida Guillen, a resident of the San Bernardino area, was found murdered in her home on October 9, 2021, per reports.
The San Bernardino Police Department discovered her body with multiple stab wounds on her upper body. As the investigations began, the killer was identified to be Guillen's ex-boyfriend, Jovanny Romo Arellanes.
The In Pursuit With John Walsh episode titled Darkest Hour showcases the pursuit of Guillen's ex-boyfriend after her murder. Episode 5 of season 5 airs on June 12, 2024, at 10 pm EST on Investigation Discovery. The official synopsis reads:

What happened to Briseida Guillen?
The San Bernardino Police Department found the 26-year-old Briseida Guillen stabbed to death in her home at 1545 North Sepulveda Avenue. The officers from San Bernardino responded to a domestic violence call in the household. Upon arriving at the place, they found Guillen with multiple stab wounds on her upper body, according to Law and Crime.
The 911 call went out of the household around 1:14 am local time. NBC Los Angeles reported at the time that it was allegedly unclear if Briseida had passed away in her home or the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
As the police began their investigation into Briseida Guillen's murder, they discovered the prime suspect to be her ex-boyfriend, Jovanny Romo Arellanes. While witnesses positively identified Romo Arellanes as the killer, Guillen's family confirmed her friends had received texts from Briseida mentioning Arellanes turning up at her home, per a Fox 11 Los Angeles report.
Having received the text, Briseida's friends showed up at her residence only to find her murdered. As per Law and Crime, Briseida's sister shared:
“On Oct 9th [,] 2021 – A victim of domestic violence [,] Briseida Guillen [,] a beautiful sister, daughter, aunt and friend was tragically taken from us unexpectedly."
According to The Sun, Lt. Michele Mahan, a spokesperson with the San Bernardino Police Department, mentioned that Guillen had reportedly obtained a restraining order against Jovanny Romo Arellanes. The police allegedly had records of domestic violence against Arellanes.
Arellanes and Guillen had reportedly broken up around six months before the incident but the former continued to stalk her. The two had dated for almost two years and the relationship was allegedly abusive, according to the Fox 11 Los Angeles report.
Briseida's family has since been fighting for justice and on the same hand, there is an arrest warrant worth $1 million out for Jovanny Romo Arellanes. Arellanes had fled the scene and the authorities have been open to information regarding his disappearance since.
