For those unaware of the D.B. Cooper case, on November 24, 1971, Dan Cooper boarded an airplane from Oregon to Seattle. Soon after, the flight's passengers and staff realized the plane was being hijacked by this man. Cooper demanded $200,000 in cash and four parachutes and threatened to set off a bomb.

When the flight landed in Seattle, Cooper's demands were met, and he was given whatever he had asked. However, soon after the flight had taken off again after refueling, Cooper was nowhere to be found. It was believed he jumped from the plane with the parachutes and money somewhere between Seattle and Portland. After that, he was never seen again.

Following the incident, the authorities tried looking for the perpetrator through various means, but for over five decades, they could not find anything that would give them hope of finally solving the case.

However, recent developments, which include the discovery of a parachute in North Carolina that matches the one that D.B. Cooper allegedly used to escape from the plane in 1971, have sparked interest among the people. Many believe this finding could help solve the case.

Dan Gryder, a retired pilot and skydiver, recently uncovered information he believes could be crucial in solving the ages-old D.B. Cooper case. He discovered a modified military parachute rig belonging to a man named Richard McCoy II, an ex-Green Beret and convicted hijacker. He believes it is the same rig Cooper used during the hijacking incident.

Gryder's ultimate reason for believing the same was that the rig he found and the one Cooper allegedly used were unique. Therefore, it would be quite challenging to find another rig with the same design unless someone replicated it to look identical.

In addition, he had the support of Richard's children (Chanté and Richard III), who also believed that their father was the hijacker associated with the 1971 incident. However, they allegedly kept mum about this until their mother, Karen, died in 2020, as they also believed that she was closely attached to the 1971 hijacking incident as well as other such incidents.

Firstly, Cooper's case remains unresolved after so many years, and public interest continues to thrive, indicating a widespread curiosity that could only be addressed with the release of an additional season of the docuseries.

Secondly, with the emergence of new evidence related to the case, as previously mentioned, Cooper's case has been reopened by the concerned authorities, suggesting that new developments are anticipated shortly, which the audience will be keen to learn about.
