Industry season 3 episode 7 “Useful Idiot,” released on September 22, 2024, is written and directed by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay. The second last episode of the latest season centers around the trouble surrounding Pierpoint during their anniversary celebration bringing tension for Eric, Rishi, and several other characters working at the organization.
Eric Tao (played by Ken Leung) assigns Rishi Ramdani (Sagar Radia) the task of saving Pierpoint’s trading position while making crucial trades overnight. But Rishi chooses to trade inside information to Harper in exchange for a new job at Leviathan. In Industry Season 3, Episode 7, Rishi's plans ultimately fail due to several reasons. His team doesn't trust him and doesn't work well together. Rishi was asked by Eric Tao to help Pierpoint by making trades, but he is distracted by his own financial troubles with his bookie friend, Vinay.
Instead of just focusing on his job, Rishi tries to get a new job at Harper Stern's company, Leviathan. He even offers to share Pierpoint's financial secrets in exchange for the job.
However, when Harper tells him that Leviathan can only take one new employee, Rishi quickly forgets his promise to include his team members, Sweetpea Golightly and Anraj Chabra. This self-centric decision causes problems, as Sweetpea and Anraj think Rishi is just using them to help his own career.
