Is Acapulco Season 4 happening? Renewal status, cast, and more 

Apple TV Plus has announced the arrival of Acapulco Season 4 just two months after the conclusion of its third season. Needless to say, the audience is highly excited to witness the return of the bilingual comedy television series inspired by the 2017 Mexican American comedy film How to Be a Latin Lover.

Acapulco Season 4 is expected to feature the show's original cast, with Eugenio Derbez returning as the title character Maximo Gallardo Ramos, a successful business tycoon residing in Malibu. The show's cast is also expected to comprise Fernando Carsa, Damián Alcázar, Camila Perez, Regina Reynoso, Raphael Alejandro, Vanessa Bauche, Jessica Collins, Rafael Cebrián, Chord Overstreet, and Carlos Corona.

The events of Acapulco Season 4 are expected to pick up from the events of the show's third season. For the uninitiated, the show's third season ended on a massive cliffhanger. In the episode, it was revealed that Máximo had purchased Las Colinas Resort. Additionally, he had urged Julia to help him renovate the place. However, the audience did not get to hear her response.

Acapulco Season 4 renewal status

As mentioned previously, Acapulco has been renewed for a fourth season by Apple TV Plus. Although the streaming service has yet to announce the show's exact arrival date, the audience is expecting more information in the coming days.

It is anticipated that Acapulco Season 4 will be released in early 2025, based on the show's previous release patterns. The second season of the show was released on October 21, 2022, just seven months after it was renewed in March 2022.

However, Season 3 arrived on May 1, 2024, which was 14 months after its renewal in January 2023. The delay was partially due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes that had momentarily stalled the industry.

What to expect from Acapulco Season 4?

Acapulco Season 4 is expected to continue Maximo Gallardo Ramos's tale of acquiring great wealth. It is also expected to address a loose end that was left untied in Season 3 of the show. As mentioned before, the audience has yet to hear Julia's response to the proposition put forward by Ramos regarding the renovation of Las Colinas Resort.

Before the announcement of Acapulco Season 4, creator Austin Winsberg discussed his plans for the potential next season in an interview with TV Insider. He spoke about Maximo Gallardo Ramos' future plans during the conversation, saying:

"I think that he has a very clear intention going forward that he wants to take the hotel back to its form of glory and that he has spent a lot of time being this businessman. But I don’t know if that person that he became fulfilled his soul and made him happy."

He also added:

"And I think he was probably his happiest, most pure self back in his early days at Las Colinas. And so I think his desire to hand over his company to try to rebuild and renovate, he’s going in with pure intent."
