The first season of Landman came to an end on January 12, 2025, and introduced a new character played by a highly acclaimed American actor. Episode 10 of the series, titled The Crumbs of Hope, actor Andy Garcia made a cameo in the closing moments. Playing the role of the cartel boss known as Galino, the show set up Garcia to have a major role in the upcoming season 2 of the series.

Landman already stars many actors such as Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore, and Jon Hamm, but the series scoring Garcia is another huge achievement. For those who are unfamiliar with Garcia, fans will know him for his roles in Brian De Palma's The Untouchables, and Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather Part III where he played the role of Vincent Mancini.

Alongside that, Garcia has also starred in films such as Ocean's Eleven and its two sequels Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen as well. So, let's dive deep into Garcia's role in Landman and explore exactly how Galino fits into the plot of the show.

Andy Garcia's role in Landman explored

Andy Garcia debuts in the season finale of Landman. Episode 10 of the show deals with the fallout of episode 9 where Monty gets declared into hospital as his health and heart issues catch up to him. In that episode, he makes Tommy the Vice President of Operations of M-Tex, and once Monty passes away in episode 10, this effectively makes Tommy the new owner.

Tommy also owns a bunch of Monty's estate, however, he plans to sell the company off so he can live off its riches. While he tries convincing Cami to do the same, she decides to go all in on a risky oil drilling venture for M-Tex. Tommy then tries making Rebecca the main lawyer again, but before he can do so, he is kidnapped by the cartel.

A man called Jimenez is said to be the Landman's cartel boss and they then torture Tommy. However, just as Tommy is about to be killed, the real cartel boss Galino, played by Andy Garcia, comes in and saves him. Galino is a man who is shown to be distinguished and he wants to get out of the business of selling drugs and get into oil drilling.

So, he strikes up a deal with Tommy so that the cartel business can be merged with the oil drilling business. So, going into season 2, fans can expect to see Andy Garcia have a bigger role as Galino given that Tommy will be directly working for him.
