Season 6 of All American was released on Netflix on April 1, 2024. All American is a sports drama created by the Christmas Caper (2007) writer, April Blair. The show stars Daniel Ezra as Spencer James, Bre-Z as Tamia "Coop" Cooper, and Samantha Logan as Olivia Baker, among others.

Daniel Ezra is not leaving the show. In All American, Daniel portrays Spencer James, the main character. James is a football player with a scarred childhood, whose sole dream is to get drafted into the NFL.

The first season of All American started airing on October 10, 2018. To date, six seasons of this CW sports drama have been aired. The show has also been renewed for a seventh season as reported by CW, seeing its growing popularity and fandom. With an impressive IMDb rating of 7.6/10, this show has been a chartbuster for years.


Daniel Ezra’s fate in season 7 of All American

Daniel Ezra, who stars as Spencer James in All American, will not play a leading role in the series any longer. He is not quitting the role; Daniel's character will only have guest cameos in the future seasons, starting with season 7, as confirmed by the star himself to Deadline.

The announcement came in after season 6 episode 13, titled Victory Lap, aired. In this episode, Spencer was finally drafted into the NFL, after Coach Montes offered him a position on the New York Bob Cats roster. Viewers also saw a glimpse of Spencer’s future, as the show jumped 10 years ahead. Spencer was seen playing in the Super Bowl, finally fulfilling his lifelong dream.

All the hard work finally paid off for Spencer. The episode also concluded on a high note for him, who not only scored the winning point for his team but also won the match MVP, with his team winning the first championship title. The last episode also showed him proposing to Olivia Baker, who happily accepted him as her man.

Daniel Ezra, the actor who plays Spencer James, expressed his gratitude towards the show, his character, the show-makers, and writers in a statement to Deadline, which read:

“After making the difficult decision to leave All American, my sole focus became completing the journey of the most life-affirming character I’ve ever played in the manner he deserves. Thanks to Nkechi and the writers, I got my wish. Season 6 is ‘Spencer’s goodbye.’ I’ll miss him. I’ll miss our cast and crew. I hope it’s been as fun to watch him as it has been to play him."

Okoro Carroll, one of the executive producers of this sports drama, also congratulated and praised Ezra and his everlasting relationship with the show. She said:

“Partnering with Daniel Ezra over the last six seasons to bring Spencer’s story to life has been such an amazing, fulfilling, experience. Daniel truly is a gift and brought so much to the character on and off the field."

It continued:

"And while Spencer has achieved his NFL dreams, I’m grateful Daniel will still remain an important part of this family, both in front of and behind the camera as we step into a new, exciting chapter of All American.”

When will season 7 of All American be released?

With only 2 episodes left in season 6, fans and viewers will have to wait till 2025 for season 7 of the show. As reported by CW, season 7 will have a total of 13 episodes. No specific release date has been revealed for the upcoming season.

Spencer being drafted to the NFL and winning a title concludes his story. He will now appear as a guest in the show, which means that in the upcoming season, new cast members will be added, while some of the old cast will return. More news on season 7 is expected once production begins.
