Fire Country, the CBS action drama series, is returning with season 3 on October 18, 2024. Created by Max Thieriot, Tony Phelan, and Joan Rater, the series stars Thieriot, Kevin Alejandro, and Jordan Calloway, among others, in pivotal roles. The show originally premiered on CBS on October 7, 2022.

The show’s official synopsis on IMDb reads:

“A young convict joins a firefighting program looking for redemption and a shortened prison sentence. He and other inmates work alongside elite firefighters to extinguish massive blazes across the region.”

Since August 1, 2024, the show has been available for streaming on Netflix as part of a deal between CBS and the streaming platform. Currently, only season 1 is available for streaming on Netflix, and this option is accessible exclusively to viewers in the USA.

Fire Country: Netflix and other streaming options

Deadline reported on July 16, 2024, that season 1 of the popular CBS series would be available on Netflix only in the US starting from August 1, 2024. Both seasons 1 and 2 of Fire Country are also available for streaming on Paramount+.

Fire Country is not the only CBS series to land on Netflix. Shows like S.W.A.T., and Evil have also been added to Netflix as part of a growing partnership between CBS Studios and Netflix.

According to a report by Deadline published on July 11, 2024, CBS' parent company, Paramount Global, is open to selling streaming rights to platforms other than Paramount+ in a bid to introduce its content to newer and newer audiences.

CBS President David Stapf commented on this strategy:

"You're exposing the show to that many more people, so potentially some of those people are new viewers. Then they, in turn, go back to watch previous seasons or future seasons."

Fire Country: Plot and episodes

The series revolves around the life and adventures of Bode Leone (Max Thieriot). He is a jailed convict who questions his life decisions as season 1 begins. A chance at redemption comes his way soon as he signs up for an early prison release program.

As part of the program, he, along with other convicts, will have to help firefighters in tackling the Northern California wildfires that ravage the region frequently. The tension in the show rises as Bode is posted in his rural hometown, forcing him to confront his past.
