Many are curious if there will be a The Sticky Season 1 Part 2 after six episodes of the show were released together on December 6, 2024, on Amazon Prime Video. The curiosity emerges as a result of the show's immense success among a niche set of audiences who have enjoyed watching the dark comedy television series and are expecting to see more.
Fans of the show will be disappointed to know that as of writing this article, there has been no official confirmation about The Sticky Season 1 Part 2 being greenlit. Therefore, until there is new information about it, a second part of the show's first season seems unlikely.
Will there be The Sticky Season 1 Part 2?
As previously mentioned, Amazon Prime Video has not yet greenlit The Sticky Season 1 Part 2, and in this case, there are fewer chances of the same happening. However, despite that, fans of the show are hopeful that the makers will come up with some positive news in the upcoming days.
Having said that, conversations surrounding The Sticky Season 2 are catching fire. This is after Chris Diamantopoulos, who plays Mike Bryne in the show recently spoke to The Direct in an interview published on the news portal on December 07, 2024.
When asked about the possibility of a season 2 of The Sticky, Diamantopoulos teased that the first season of the show was just the beginning. He also insinuated that there was more to come in the story, without explicitly confirming or refuting anything. He said:
"Oh, this is the tee-off, man. It's almost like this season is the preamble. I mean, really, it begs the question of, holy s*it, you know. It's like, now what? And the now what is huge. I don't want to give any spoilers away, but yes, this was always conceived as a multiple-season show, and I'm very confident that we're gonna get a chance to do that."
Why the audiences are hopeful for The Sticky Season 1 Part 2?
These days, streaming platforms have been adopting a very unique release strategy when it comes to popular shows. When a specific show consists of six episodes or more, they are divided into equal parts and released at specific intervals.
This has been increasing platform engagement on specific streaming services and creating anticipation among the audience of these shows, usually resulting in more viewership.
One of the first shows to do this, this year was Bridgerton season 3 which was released in two parts of four episodes each. Cobra Kai Season 6 also adopted a similar strategy and is releasing the season in three parts of five episodes each.
Therefore, due to the ongoing trends, following the release of the show's first season this December, the audiences were naturally enthusiastic about The Sticky Season 1 Part 2 happening.
What is the show about?
The Sticky Season 1 stars Margo Martindale, Chris Diamantopoulos, and Guillaume Cyr. They played the roles of Ruth Landry, Mike Byrne, and Remy Bouchard, respectively. Partly based on the Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist which took place between 2011 and 2012, the show's official logline reads:
"The Sticky is a comedy-drama series about Ruth Landry, a maple syrup farmer who, in defiance of a heartless system, assembles a team to undertake the Canadian heist of the century. The target: the country’s multi-million dollar maple syrup surplus."
The Sticky Season 1 is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
