What happened in Cobra Kai season 6?
Cobra Kai season 6 is the three-part final season of the series, which premiered as a YouTube Original series in 2018 before transitioning to Netflix in 2021.
Cobra Kai season 6 picks up after season 5, where Terry Silver's attempt to take control of the notorious dojo fell apart. Following this, Daniel and Johnny join forces to compete in the upcoming Karate Tournament known as the Sekai Kaikai. However, John Kreese also returns and partners with Kim Da-Eun to resurrect his vision of what Cobra Kai should be.
John Kreese proceeds to mold Cobra Kai student Kwon Jae-Sung to his liking. Meanwhile, it's revealed that the Sekai Taiki will only allow six fighters from each dojo to attend. Daniel and Johnny, therefore, end up setting the elimination criteria to select the Miyagi-do contestants for the tournament, which will be held in Barcelona.
Despite Danny and Johnny's efforts at building team cohesion, they're blindsided when Tory's mother dies due to an undetected blood clot. When the selection process for the team captains begins, Robby emerges victorious without controversy. However, the girls' captain contest becomes contentious, thanks to Tory becoming aggressive to cope with her mother's death.
She reveals this to the team after Daniel tries to intervene and surrenders the team captain position to Sam, resigning from Miyagi-do. This incident also leads to Daniel and Johnny falling out over how they handled everything.
When the Miyagi-do teachers and students finally arrive to face off against their rivals in Cobra Kai, they discover that the team is being led by Kwon and Tory, who's fallen under John Kreese's thrall.
Cobra Kai season 6 is available for streaming on Netflix in all regions.
