Plot and cast of Renegade Nell

Renegade Nell follows Nell Jackson, played by Louisa Harland. Nell is recently-widowed and has recurring, magical superhuman strength. She returns home after many years but is accused of murder, which forces her to escape from the authorities.

Nell, now a fugitive, goes on an epic adventure, meeting interesting and peculiar people, eventually becoming the most feared person in the country.

Harland, who gained prominence with the Channel 4 sitcom Derry Girls, playing the character of Orla McCool, portrayed the quick-witted and daring lead character. Nick Mohammed, who played Nathan Shelly in Ted Lasso, plays Billy Blind, a fairy who grants Nell superpowers.
