Agatha All Along episode 3 premiered on Disney+ on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Titled Through Many Miles of Tricks and Trials, the episode saw Agatha Harkness and her assembled coven of witches finally face the first trial of the Witches' Road. The trial saw them go into a house and drink some wine which gave them hallucinations of their worst memories.
Alongside that, Agatha All Along episode 3 also tried alluding to exactly who Joe Locke's Teen might be, and because of the events of the episodes, many fans have been led to believe that he is playing Nicholas Scratch, Agatha's son. With the Teen being close to Agatha and him being bewitched to say his name, fans thought that the two might share a personal connection, but that's not the case.
While the character does have a connection to Agatha, he isn't her son but is rather her arch nemesis Wanda Maximoff's son. Through promos and merchandising material, Marvel Studios has hinted at Locke's Teen secretly being Billy Kaplan, who in the comics, is also the superhero known as Wiccan.
Warning: Potential spoilers for Agatha All Along to follow.
Recently, a Funko Pop leak also revealed that Locke will be indeed starring as Wiccan in the series - which fans can expect to see revealed in the final few episodes of the series.
Joe Locke's Teen is Billy Kaplan aka Wiccan in Agatha All Along
In the comic books, Billy Kaplan aka Wiccan was created by Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung, and first appeared as Asgardian in Young Avengers #1 in February 2005, and then made his debut as Wiccan in Young Avengers #6 in August 2005. He is the son of Wanda Maximoff in the comics.
Billy and his twin brother Tommy were born when Wanda Maximoff altered reality and claimed two lost souls. However, Mephisto went on to reclaim those souls which led to him being destroyed by them as they were already affected heavily by Wanda's magic. This led to the souls being displaced, with Billy's soul being reborn in a family of Reform Jews.
Growing up, Billy was constantly bullied at school, but when he received encouragement from his favorite Avenger, Scarlet Witch, he gained the strength to stand up to his bully. This led to his powers manifesting and him accidentally killing his bully. He then adopted a superhero persona inspired by Thor and named himself Asgardian.
However, the Asgardian person didn't last for long as Cassie Lang and Kate Bishop recommended that he change his name to Wiccan. In the comics, Wiccan has been a significant part of the Young Avengers.
Agatha All Along teases the tragedy of Agatha's son
While Teen aka Billy Kaplan is not Agatha's child, her son does get a big reference in the latest episode. In the comics, Nicholas Scratch is Agatha Harkness's child and also the father of Salem's Seven. However, in episode 3, fans learn about the tragedy that Scratch may have gone through earlier in his life.
When facing the first trial of the Witches' Road, Agatha hallucinates a baby crib which she walks up towards only to find the Darkhold lying in there. With it already being teased that Agatha traded her son in exchange for power, it certainly looks like Scratch may have gone through an unfortunate fate very early in his life. However, his fate is still left ambiguous.
The first three episodes of Agatha All Along are streaming on Disney+.
