Much like many of the inventive marketing gimmicks that came over the past few months, Sonic 3 has started one of its own by projecting characters from the upcoming anticipated third movie on landmarks like the Pellissier Building and the Reunion Tower. Paramount has also disclosed that the first trailer for Sonic 3 will arrive on August 27, 2024.
The viral marketing campaign, which many fans have reposted on sites like Twitter and Paramount has reposted from their official account, gives a glimpse at yet another expert marketing campaign that is eye-grabbing, to say the least. It is not clear whether the projections are real or computer-generated. But by the looks of it, it seems like a real projection. The post was also from Ben Schwartz, who plays the titular Hedgehog in the upcoming movie.

Many fans came together to express their excitement over this campaign as well as the trailer, which will come out very soon. X (formerly known as Twitter) user @SpeederLight1 summed up the emotion, saying:
"ITS TIME TO RISE SONIC FANS LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
Many other users chimed in with similar responses, with many demanding the trailer.
"Give us the trailer now! Lol"- another user added, giving a glimpse at the excitement that surrounds the upcoming Sonic movie.

In the past few months, we saw several such viral campaigns from shows and movies like House of the Dragon season 2, Despicable Me 4, and Alien: Romulus.
Sonic 3 marketing campaign has fans on their toes
Sonic 3 will be the third installment in the movie adaptation of the famous video game series. It is a direct follow-up to Sonic the Hedgehog 2, which released in 2022.
In addition to the returning cast, which includes Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, Natasha Rothwell, Shemar Moore, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, and Idris Elba, this upcoming third installment also features Keanu Reeves as Shadow the Hedgehog and Krysten Ritter.
Naturally, after the success of the first two movies, fans are extremely excited to get behind this one, and with the addition of new cast members, this does feel like another successful entry into the franchise.
The marketing campaign, which is doing rounds on social media platforms has also worked very well as it has already started conversations surrounding the movie. Though Sonic 3 is only months away, we are yet to see a trailer, which is of concern to many fans of the franchise.
Thankfully, as confirmed by multiple sources, fans will be able to Sonic 3 trailer by tomorrow. The movie arrives in theatres on December 20, 2024. Stay tuned for more updates.
