The actress won the award for her role as Liz Danvers in the crime drama series True Detective. Additionally, Foster became the first actor to win an Emmy for the series.
The actress had been nominated thrice prior to receiving the award on September 15, 2024, when she expressed her gratitude to the makers, co-stars, and fans for being part of the journey that led her to the victory.
“This is an incredibly emotional moment for me because True Detective: Night Country was just a magical experience and it all comes from the top, beautiful, wonderful, talented — I love you so much — Issa López, la reina, who dreamed up this crazy Liz Danvers for me,” said Jodie.
