La Maison season 1 episode 4, titled Like Father, Like Daughter, dropped on Apple TV+ on Friday, October 11, 2024. The new episode teases more familial drama, with new secrets finally coming to light.
Previously, in episode 3 of La Maison, Paloma experienced the chaos of her first fashion show for Maison LEDU. It was a hectic 24 hours for the young designer as she dealt with problems that arose left and right with only hours left before the show. She also had Perle return to the runway wearing the final piece of her collection, much to the former model's dismay. That said, the fashion show ended in a sea of applause for both Perle and Paloma.
But as Paloma soaked in the success of her first LEDU fashion show, she faced some backlash that would question why she ever decided to join the Maison. She was being dubbed as a "nepo baby" and a "racist" like Vincent, and to mitigate any more backlash, Paloma was forced to denounce her connection to the former LEDU designer.

Paloma denies her connection to Vincent in La Maison season 1 episode 5
Paloma's first fashion show for Maison LEDU from La Maison episode 4 was a massive success. She and her designs were getting a lot of buzz, and the fashion house, especially Perle, was taking advantage of Paloma's newfound popularity to boost their sales.
They almost succeeded, but one of their campaigns featuring Perle and her bag tanked. Paloma was being labeled as a copycat, much to her dismay. So, she decided to design a bag that anyone could use. She called it "Neutral," and it was made of the scraps from making the Perle bag. They shared the promo video of the bag and its story on social media, and at first, the response was positive.
However, it turned for the worse when some guy accosted Paloma just outside of the fashion house, calling her a fraud. Online, she was being labeled as a "nepo baby" and out of touch with reality. Some people also called her "racist" like they did with Vincent in the La Maison season 1 premiere.
Adding to Paloma's woes, Vincent called her, and it was supposed to be a comforting chat in the wake of the backlash she's receiving online. However, Vincent's confession about the dove did the opposite for Paloma. He revealed that he was the one who named her Paloma, aka "his little dove," and the dove painting, which was now Paloma's signature, was originally his design. Gino apparently loved the design and wanted to paint it.
Paloma, thinking that the dove was Gino's, and her not wanting to have ties with Vincent, was visibly heartbroken about the revelation. She thought that everything was a lie, and she was not sure what to do now. Elsewhere in La Maison episode 5, Perle suggested to Paloma that she had to cut ties with Vincent and do it publicly.
Meanwhile, attacking anyone online was not Paloma's personality, and at first, she didn't want to do it. However, Perle told her that it was going to be Vincent or her and that she had to choose. In the end, Paloma told her backstory and her struggles with bullying before publicly denouncing any connection with Vincent.
"I don't endorse anything LEDU's former artistic director said. He is not my father. He is not my family. I came to LEDU to change things. To change fashion. Vincent Ledu belongs to the past. He won't be part of this Maison's future," she said.
What happened to Vincent at the end of La Maison season 1 episode 5?
The Friday episode of La Maison season 1 saw Vincent still stuck in his massive estate located on an island out of nowhere. He was busy ruminating about the past and his memories with Gino, who appeared to be the love of Vincent's life if the tears he had while watching Gino's old videos were any indication.
He was also thinking about his current affairs, with him being ousted from Maison LEDU after being its prized designer for decades. At one point, he asked Marie during a phone call if he truly deserved what happened to him. While his sister didn't answer the question directly, Marie implied that all of Vincent's contributions to fashion would be remembered when he died.
Since he first left the Maison, Vincent had been in a depressive state. Perle mentioned in one scene of La Maison episode 5 that Vincent was always wearing his robe, implying that the fashion designer didn't have the energy to be as fashionable as he once was. His state became even more dire as he listened to Paloma's statement at the near end of the episode.
He appeared to be contemplative before he was seen leaving "The Ledu Thimble" and walking outside the estate and into the water. But before anything monumental could happen, like Vincent planning to drown himself, the episode ended.
La Maison season 1 episode 5 sees Madame Rovel struggling to stay alive
Paloma and Vincent were not the only ones struggling personally in La Maison episode 5. The Maison's rival, Madame Diane Rovel, was also struggling to stay alive. The past La Maison episodes teased that she was suffering from a dire health condition, from her being hooked in IVs and taking her wig off to reveal that she was lost her hair.
Episode 5 revealed that she indeed had a serious health scare. A video conversation with a neurosurgeon revealed that Madame Rovel had a tumor in her brain and there weren't any other doctors who could help her except for one. Despite having as much money as she had, Madame Rovel felt the effect of her debilitating condition. She looked like she was about to faint, she sometimes slurred her words, her hands shook, and she visibly lacks energy.
However, while viewers knew about her condition, she still kept it a secret from her daughter. Despite Caroline begging Madame Rovel to trust her and open up to her, the older woman remained steadfast and keeps her mouth shut.
