La Maison Season 1 episode 6, dropped on Apple TV+ on Friday, October 18, 2024. The new episode, titled Message in a Bottle, brought positive and negative events as the Ledu family steps away from the French fashion scene to celebrate Christmas in their Brittany estate.
Previously, in La Maison Season 1, Paloma Castel faced the consequences of her new position as head designer at Maison LEDU. She was branded a fraud, a nepo baby, and a racist, with the online world turning its back on her as they did to Vincent. Like the episode 5 title, it was "like father, like daughter," a statement that further teases the real story of Paloma's childhood, which is further uncovered in episode 6.
In Friday's episode, Vincent is finally ready to talk to Paloma, and celebrating Christmas with the whole family is the perfect occasion for it. Vincent tells Paloma all about her childhood, including that she was Vincent and Gino's daughter and that she has three parents—Vincent, Gino, and her biological mom.

La Maison Season 1 episode 6 reveals more about Paloma's childhood
Paloma's birth since the La Maison premiere has been a mystery. People first referred to her as Vincent's offspring in the series' earlier episodes. Robinson referred to her as his "cousin," and LEDU's rival, Madame Rovel, referred to Paloma as Vincent's daughter.
However, their family ties get complicated in episode 3 during Paloma and Vincent's tense dinner. The episode reveals that Paloma isn't Vincent's biological daughter. Instead, her real father is Gino, who worked at the Maison before and was Vincent's lover. Per Paloma's recollection, Gino cheated on Vincent with some woman who got pregnant with Paloma. However, that isn't the end of her and Vincent's backstory, as episode 6 reveals more.
When Paloma accepts Vincent's invitation to spend Christmas in Brittany with the entire Ledu family, the former LEDU designer tours her around the estate. Vincent brings Paloma to a nursery with plenty of secrets about her childhood. Vincent reveals that Paloma spent the first two years of her life in the nursery.
She also sees the family picture taken when she was a baby, confirming that she wasn't just Gino's child; Paloma is also Vincent's daughter. The photo shows Gino holding little Paloma in his arms while Vincent kisses her on the head. Vincent then reveals more about what happened years ago and why they became estranged. He says he would have loved to keep Paloma to himself when Gino died, "but life had other plans."
Throughout the previous episodes of the French fashion drama, Paloma believed that she only had two parents, her mom and Gino. She thought Vincent hated her because Gino cheated on him with her mom. She grew up with Gino and Vincent as her parents, and while she's not Vincent's biological daughter, he still considers her his real daughter.
Later in La Maison Season 1 episode 6, while Paloma eats the omelet Vincent cooked for her, he reveals details about the past. Their conversation implies that Vincent and Gino had an open relationship as he was sleeping with other people. One of those people was Paloma's biological mom, Lola.
When Paloma probes about her parents before she was born, Vincent says that Gino and Lola panicked when she got pregnant. But he also says that her parents wanted her—all three wanted her.
Vincent assures Paloma that her bio parents adored her but admits that Gino and Lola were "young and fragile." On the other hand, Vincent wants Paloma all for himself and even wants to adopt her, which comes up in his conversation with Perle in the final scenes of La Maison Season 1 episode 6.
Vincent also tells Paloma that after Gino died, his sole focus was on her and that he wanted Paloma to become his heiress. He also admits that he acted like Lola didn't exist then. Vincent's disregard made Lola angry until she packed and left one morning, leaving Vincent to accept that he lost the daughter he adored.
Vincent is a changed man in La Maison Season 1 episode 6
La Maison Season 1 episode 5 ended in a cliffhanger, with Vincent planning to drown himself in the ocean. Friday's episode reveals that he didn't die from it, but the experience changed his outlook on life.
When he invites the entire Ledu family to Brittany for Christmas, they almost can't believe it. Marie thinks it's the medicine talking because, by that point, Vincent is seeing a therapist after his drowning incident. Robinson, who invites Solal to their family's Christmas celebration, thinks the reunion will erupt in chaos, which is considered normal for the Ledu family.
Everyone appears stunned by Vincent's new disposition when they arrive at the Brittany estate. He's smiling and joking and has become more affectionate. The biggest change is his positive greeting towards Victor, which leaves the latter slightly stunned. They even share a hug, indicating that Vincent has come a long way since the incident because, in earlier episodes, Vincent and Victor only either argue with each other or don't acknowledge the other at all.
The tension between Vincent and Paloma, who previously cut ties with Vincent, is also gone in La Maison Season 1 episode 6. They laugh and share stories, like Paloma's childhood and her other parents.
Betrayal ruins the Ledu family's Christmas reunion
With Vincent's changed demeanor in La Maison Season 1 episode 6, the Ledu family reunion to celebrate Christmas appears to be different. They even keep with the tradition of writing their wishes on a piece of paper and placing them inside a glass bottle before throwing the bottle into the ocean.
However, on their way home after the "message in a bottle" scene, Solal tells Robinson that he has something to confess, that he lied to him. During the Christmas dinner, all hell breaks loose when the drunk and heartbroken Robinson starts probing Solal about his betrayal.
He later reveals that Solal is a Rovel spy, leading the Ledu family to vote to file a lawsuit against Madame Rovel. With Victor working for Rovel, he will be implicated as well, further straining their already strained relationship.
