La Maison season 1 episode 5 started with the aftermath of Zita Hanrot's Paloma's successful fashion show for LEDU. Her designs are in demand, and the fashion house is capitalizing on her buzzing presence. However, a botched campaign after another pushed Paloma off her newly acquired throne as the new artistic director of LEDU.
She's being bullied online and called names, and someone also assaulted her outside of the LEDU building, calling her a fraud. Online, people call her a "nepo baby," and others liken her to Vincent, whom they claim to be "racist." Paloma is heartbroken by the turn of events. So, Perle suggests something that can restore her reputation, but it's not something that she wants to do because she isn't that kind of person.
Perle tells her that she has to cut ties with Vincent and to do it publicly. When Paloma hesitated, Perle told her that it was either her who sank or Vincent. In the end, Paloma decided to save herself and shared a video where she recalled her childhood and all the discrimination she faced. Paloma also denounced any and every connection she had with Vincent and told the public that he wouldn't be back at the Maison.
Meanwhile, Madame Rovel, LEDU's biggest rival, is fighting for her life. Episode 5 revealed that she has a brain tumor, and there's only one doctor who can take her case. Victor also realized that Madame Rovel had only been stringing him along and didn't really want him to become Rovel's CEO.
