La Maison season 1, episode 9, released on November 8, 2024, on Apple TV+, intensified the fashion drama as it nears its conclusion. The latest episode challenged the loyal Ledu family members, testing their willingness to sacrifice to keep their Maison running while fighting against a rival trying to take over.
Previously, Paloma struggled with her first couture collection for Maison LEDU, facing setbacks despite newfound inspiration, only to have more drama jeopardize everything she had worked for.
As Rovel took Maison LEDU's independence, Paloma didn't want to get involved with the family drama and betrayal, so she decided to leave everything behind. But at the last minute, she realized that she was a Ledu and it was her Maison, so she returned with an idea of how to protest against Rovel.
The French fashion drama's penultimate episode saw Vincent, Marie, and Paloma, along with Perle, making their last-ditch effort to fight against their rival fashion house.

Did Paloma ditch LEDU after Rovel's underhanded takeover in La Maison season 1 episode 9?
At the start of La Maison season 1, episode 9, it was revealed that Madame Diane Rovel had been diligently working to acquire the majority shares of Maison LEDU. After securing Robinson's shares, she turned her focus to obtaining Marie's or Yann's shares.
Despite Marie's reluctance to betray her family, Madame Rovel succeeded in persuading Yann to sign the papers that would transfer the majority shares away from the Ledu family. This news sent Paloma's life into turmoil, particularly due to her complicated past with Rovel.
In the La Maison season 1 premiere, Paloma had been critical of Rovel, and the fashion house called the fraud squad on her. Later episodes revealed that the fraud squad confiscating their merchandise led to her and Ye-Ji's brand, Doppel, going into debt.
Thinking that she would have a new boss, a Rovel, as the rival fashion house took over the Maison, Paloma was visibly rattled. At one point in La Maison season 1 episode 9, she went to the rooftop to shout her frustration. However, Perle was there to comfort her after and to keep her focused on the only thing she could do right now—finish her couture collection.
Perle also tried to calm Paloma, telling her that Vincent got a plan to make Madame Rovel leave the Maison alone. However, when Vincent's plan didn't succeed, Paloma went into another spiral. She told Vincent and Perle that she didn't want to be roped into the family drama and betrayal. She left the Maison just as Vincent asked her about her collection.
Vincent told her then that designers didn't abandon their ships, but Paloma told him that he could have his collection. She also accused her father of using her so Vincent could return to LEDU and that taking over as the artistic director was his plan all along.
After walking out from the Maison, Marie talked to Paloma over beer. She told her niece about not giving up on Vincent. While Paloma accused her that she didn't want her to be part of the Ledu family in the first place, Marie clarified that she didn't want Paloma to join LEDU "halfway," like Victor. For her, it has to be all in or all out.
But despite her conversation with Marie, Paloma still decided to leave Maison LEDU for good. She packed up her stuff and left the thimble that Vincent had given her. But as she rode a taxi to the train station, the driver talked about Paloma taking over her father's fashion house, which must have made her father happy. In the end, Paloma thought about it and told the driver to go to the Maison instead.
There, she exerted her defiance against Madame Rovel, saying:
"LEDU is my home...and I decide."
Just like the La Maison season 1 episode 9 title "Ledu or Not Ledu," Paloma picked Maison LEDU and embraced being Vincent's child and her part in the Ledu family.
La Maison season 1 episode 9 sees Paloma and Perle's shocking couture show
Throughout La Maison, the series has portrayed Paloma Castel as someone who knows what she wants and someone who isn't afraid to stand up according to her values and principles. So, it wasn't likely that she would sit and do nothing about Rovel's underhanded takeover of Maison LEDU.
When Madame Rovel mentioned that her collection would be showcased at the Rovel esplanade and that there was nothing she could do about it, Paloma wasn't likely to simply agree then and there. At the end of La Maison season 1 episode 9, Madame Rovel, along with Caroline and Victor, get the shock of their lives when the fashion show doesn't turn out like they expected. Perle even walked on the runway to make their protest against Rovel burn even hotter.
Instead of wearing Paloma's haute couture designs, all models walked to the runway wearing plain white t-shirts and jeans, with only QR codes printed on their shirts. As the fashion show spectators scan the QR code, the link reads:
"Haute Couture Show Spring-Summer 2024 - The Wave"
Meanwhile, Vincent and Marie, who were also there for Paloma's fashion show, were smiling and smirking because they somehow got the upper hand. That said, the episode ended before the link could reveal more about Paloma's couture collection—whether the show is happening somewhere else or if she's holding a virtual fashion show.
Madame Rovel and Vincent LEDU's connection is explained in La Maison season 1 episode 9
In La Maison season 1, episode 9, Vincent invited Madame Rovel to the Brittany estate with plans to reclaim Maison LEDU from her. When she arrived, her remark about the service entrance hints that she is familiar with the estate.
It's revealed that she spent part of her childhood there, and her mother was Vincent's nanny, serving as one of the estate's servants. This connection added depth to the rivalry between Vincent and Madame Rovel, as her personal history intertwined with the Ledu family legacy.
Madame Rovel's walk down memory lane also revealed why she had a lot of hatred for Vincent. It turned out that her mom took care of the Ledu kids like they were her own, leaving her too tired to care for her own daughter. She also revealed that she was there when Vincent fired her mom after his father died because he blamed her for his father's death. Madame Rovel claimed that being fired and being away from the Ledu kids broke her mother.

What did Vincent offer Madame Diane Rovel in exchange for Maison LEDU?
During Vincent and Madame Rovel's conversation over a meal in the estate in Brittany in La Maison season 1 episode 9, he offered her the estate in return for the Maison LEDU shares. Vincent pointed out that it has always been what the Rovel matriarch wanted, as she offered to buy the estate from Vincent several times already.
However, Madame Rovel refused. She said that the shares are worth billions while the estate is only worth millions. She also told Vincent that she never planned to return the shares in the Maison, and she only went to Brittany to see Vincent grovel.
