What is Midnight Family Season 1 all about?
Per the official logline from Apple TV+, Midnight Family Season 1 follows Marigaby Tamayo and her family in Mexico City. She spends her mornings studying to become a doctor one day, but during the night, she tries to save lives throughout the city by joining her family members in their privately owned ambulance.
Together with her father, Ramon, and her two brothers, Marcus and Julito, Marigaby provides support to anyone who needs extreme medical emergencies to serve millions of people. However, after delivering their patients to hospitals, they awkwardly try to get paid for their services.
The show features Marigaby as a rule-breaking medical student and her family as a hardworking bunch, but despite their efforts and heroism, they are on the bottom rung of the system. Marigaby and her family straddle the class divide between hardworking folks and spoiled rich kids, giving viewers a unique and possibly unfamiliar vision of Mexico's capital.
Marigaby's story in Apple TV+'s Midnight Family Season 1 is inspired by the award-winning 2019 documentary of the same name that follows the Ochoa family, who runs a private ambulance business.
