Based on the fourth novel in the Neapolitan Novels series by Elena Ferrante, My Brilliant Friend season 4 is scheduled for release on HBO on September 9, 2024, and on Rai 1 on November 11, 2024. The upcoming season will be the show's last and will consist of ten episodes.
The events of this season will pick up from the previous one, which saw significant changes in Lenù and Lila's lives. In My Brilliant Friend season 4, Lenù, who left Naples, became an established writer, and got married, is expected to return. Lila, on the other hand, is anticipated to become more involved with the local Neapolitan mob, the Camorra.

As reported by Vanity Fair, Alba Rohrwacher and Irene Maiorino will take on the roles of Lenù and Lila, respectively, replacing Margherita Mazzucco and Gaia Girace, who played the characters in the first three seasons.

What is the central plot of My Brilliant Friend season 4?
My Brilliant Friend season 4 picks up where the previous season left off. Lenù, who had left Naples for good to establish herself as a writer and solidify her marriage with her husband Pietro, finds herself at a crossroads after her marriage fails.
Complicating things further is her growing affection towards Nino for whom she is willing to leave her family behind. Lila, on the other hand, is grappling with several issues in Naples, including dealing with mobsters who are constantly at loggerheads with her.
