The Netflix documentary brings forward details from the case through interviews with people in his intimate circle.
According to Untold: The Murder of Air McNair, Robert Gaddy, the quarterback's close friend and business partner, is the one who called 9-1-1 and informed the authorities after finding the body of Air McNair. But he fled the scene before help could arrive.

About Robert Gaddy
Robert “Big Daddy” Gaddy and Air McNair had been friends for a long time. They played football together for Alcorn State University in Lorman, Mississippi. When McNair joined the Houston Oilers, which eventually became the Tennessee Titans, Gaddy joined the Kansas City Chiefs and ultimately the Nashville Kats of the Arena Football League. Talking about McNair's murder, he told The Tennessean:
“When I walked in, I knew it immediately (knew something was wrong). I didn’t have to touch (McNair). I called 911 and told them they needed to get there. I was holding my breath and hoping it wasn’t true."
Gaddy was also McNair's bodyguard and business partner. He owned a minority stake in McNair's Nashville restaurant Gridiron9. Four years before McNair’s murder, Gaddy made the headlines by pressing charges against the Titans’ Adam “Pacman” Jones after they got into a fight.
Emily Andrews, a friend of Sahel Kazemi, also informed the police that she spoke with McNair a few weeks before his murder, and McNair told her that he had fired Gaddy after discovering $13,000 missing. However, in the interview with The Tennessean, Gaddy refuted Emily's statement, saying that he was never fired and never had a financial dispute with McNair.
Where is Gaddy now and what is he doing?
Following Air McNair’s murder, Robert Gaddy and the former quarterback’s cousin Raymond White, who were the minority owners of Gridiron9, wanted to buy out the majority stake. But the court authorized McNair’s wife, Mechelle McNair, to sell the restaurant, dismissing an objection filed by White.
In 2016, Robert and his wife, Ashley Gaddy, opened a sports bar, Donks Bar & Grill, at 2209 Murfreesboro Pike in Nashville, but six years later, in 2022, the establishment was closed down.
