The Ending of Eric

Vincent Sobers Up

In a flash-forward, Vincent is sober and meets with his father. He tells him he once admired and respected him, but not anymore, and says goodbye. He is rehired at the Good Morning Sunshine studios, and Edgar, a pregnant Cassie, and Sebastian watch the show from the crowd. Ledroit drives past a now-closed The Lux and visits Cecile and her son for dinner.

At the studios, Edgar walks across the set’s bridge wearing the Eric costume, which makes Vincent cry. The two converse. From the balcony, Eric, the imaginary monster, watches over them both.

Ledroit Discovers What Happened to Marlon

The final episode begins with Vincent passing out underground while Cassie and Sebastian attend a food drive for the homeless after a police raid on the subway tunnels.

Meanwhile, Gator gives Ledroit a VHS tape from The Lux. The tape reveals Deputy Mayor Costello leading Marlon Rochelle into an alley for a s*xual act before being beaten to death by officers Nokes and Kennedy. Encouraged by Gator, Ledroit plays the tape at the police station, leading to the arrests of those involved.

At the sanitation unit, Ledroit arrests workers, Alexander and Misha, discovering Marlon-related clippings and a bloodied jersey in Misha's trailer. He then arrests Costello during his child's baptism.

As Ledroit brings Costello to the station, Tina informs him that Edgar's jacket was found next to Raya's drowned body. However, Edgar is later seen trying to escape from a New York gutter. During interrogations, Misha confesses they disposed of Marlon's body on Bruno Di Bari's orders, while Costello tearfully admits his involvement in Marlon's murder.

Vincent Confronts Yuusuf

Vincent wakes up and sees Edgar's drawings on the walls. Yuusuf soon arrives to collect his belongings, and Vincent confronts him. Yuusuf tells Vincent that Edgar is too scared of him to go home, which is why he follows Yuusuf down into the tunnels.

He explains that he tried to keep Edgar safe but sent him with Raya after learning that the police were after him. Yuusuf gives Vincent directions to try and find Edgar, then leaves as he's on the run.

Edgar is Found

Vincent leaves the tunnels to try and find Edgar while a protest erupts for the unhoused in Central Park.

He heads to Good Morning Sunshine, where he dresses up as Eric and addresses the media and crowd, including Cassie and Ledroit, in hopes of Edgar returning home.

Edgar sees Eric on a TV screen in a New York diner. Vincent takes off his costume and runs through the city back to his house, with Edgar arriving straight after him.
