Netflix has found itself on the wrong side of fans again after it recently canceled Kaos season 2. The show which stars Jeff Goldblum as Zeus and focuses on Greek and Roman mythology, had its season 2 axed by the streaming service earlier this week. The decision came as the show reportedly failed to accumulate enough viewers for Netflix to continue to invest in it.

Fans were enraged following the cancellation of Kaos season 2. The show was received well by critics and audiences alike, leading to confusion about its cancellation. The show's cancellation continues a Netflix trend of projects being axed after the first season's release.

With the cancellation of Kaos, there was massive outrage online and fans decided to call for a boycott on Netflix. On the subreddit r/KaosNetflixSeries, fans were enraged by how Netflix doesn't care about movies or TV and is rather just focused on making money.

"Netflix is all about money. They’re not here for us or for a passion for good movies/TV or a love for creativity and good stories. They’re a money making machine; feeding on the need for more and more money," said a fan on Reddit.
"I can't be the only one so angered by the cancellation of this magnificent show that I never want to use Netflix again. I'm sick and tired of this stupid company cancelling every show that is actually worth watching," said another fan on Reddit.
"I'm sad to see it, but I knew it was coming. Netflix higher ups have openly proclaimed they pretty much only care about social media attention and 'going viral'," said another fan in the thread.

The anger for Kaos being canceled on Netflix was carried on over to X as well. Some even hoped that the show would be picked up by another platform.

"This is frustrating. #KAOS barely had time to fly. It featured an eclectic cast, incredible diversity, and a twist on Greek mythology. Season 2 would've been a banger. If Netflix isn't going to allow its content to grow, give it up to another platform. It just got started!" said a fan.
"WHAT IS THE POINT OF STARTING ANYTHING ON @NETFLIX ANYMORE," expressed another fan.
"Sharp, funny, strange and moving. A stellar cast. And even this gets cancelled. The final push I needed to bin my subscription," said another fan.

Kaos's creator disappointed by the show's cancellation

However, it wasn't only the fans who were disappointed by the cancellation. Creator Charlie Covell, who used they/them pronouns, expressed their disappointment via the production company SISTER. They said they were "gutted" by the show's cancellation.

“Of course I’m gutted not to be making more Kaos, but I don’t want this news to overshadow what we did make. I’m incredibly lucky to have worked with such an exceptionally talented cast and crew, and I’m extremely proud of our show. Thank you to absolutely everybody involved: it was a Herculean team effort, and a huge privilege to work with you all," they said.

In the full statement, Covell also expressed that they appreciated how passionate fans had been about the show and hope that they continue to talk about it.

The first season of the Jeff Goldblum starrer can be watched on Netflix right now.
