Netflix reveals glimpse of danger in Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft latest preview

On October 9, 2024, Netflix shared a new clip from Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft on YouTube ahead of the series' release scheduled for October 10, 2024. The approximately 2-minute 5-second clip which has amassed thousands of views as of writing this article, focuses on Croft's experience during an alligator attack.

A specific scene from Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft highlights Croft's encounter with sudden danger after she embarks on an adventure in an unknown location that has a den. However, her endeavors are quickly sidetracked after she falls from a crack at the mouth of the den which throws her into a deep pit filled with water and other beings such as alligators.

Netflix's latest preview hints at danger in Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft

Lara Croft's affinity towards exploration and encountering danger along the way is quite known among her fan base. In the latest preview released by Netflix on YouTube, the same seems to be happening.

As she embarks on a particular adventure in the preview, which she refers to as "Certain Death," Croft finds herself at a standstill, with her main destination located across a body of water.

She opts to navigate the challenging terrain using a rope and successfully makes her way across. However, just before she can enter the cave she intends to explore, the ground beneath her crashes, plunging her into deep water, several inches below the surface.

While submerged, she faces falling rocks of great size but manages to dodge all of them. Almost instantly, she spots an escape route, only to encounter a large alligator.

Despite that, Croft remains determined to endure this challenge and swims towards the exit, followed closely by the alligator who is eager to attack. This leads to an intense chase scene between Croft and the alligator, eventually resulting in Croft emerging from the water.

Unfortunately, the alligator manages to bite her leg after that and begins pulling her back into the water. In a fight for her life, Croft is forced to stab the alligator with a knife.

Once again submerged, she eventually resurfaces, swims out of the water, and heads towards her desired destination. In the following scene, viewers can see the injured (possibly already dead) alligator's body floating on the water's surface.

In Tudum's October 9, 2024, issue it was divulged briefly what Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft will be about. Writing about the timeline of the events in the animated series, Tudum wrote:

"The series continues right after the events of the Survivor trilogy of video games — Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider — and finds Lara (voiced by Hayley Atwell) abandoning her friends to embark on increasingly more perilous solo adventures."

"However, Lara must return home when a dangerous and powerful Chinese artifact is stolen from Croft Manor by a thief with an uncanny personal connection.
