Netflix's Eric is Benedict Cumberbatch's latest thriller, in which a father searches for his missing son. Set in New York in the 1980s, the desperate father has to fight his demons before resolving the problem at hand. According to actor Cumberbatch, the story is about homecoming and finding a place in the world.
Cumberbatch plays the distraught father, Vincent, who holds an unconventional idea to look for his missing child, Edgar. His drive to look for his child pushes him away from people who can help him and drives him to the brink of sanity. Surprisingly, the titular Eric is a blue monster puppet drawn by the 9-year-old Edgar, the missing child.
Netflix's Eric highlights the destructive behavior employed by people in distress, leading to their social isolation. The dark and gritty miniseries exposes the crimes on the streets of the Big Apple.

1) Benedict Cumberbatch
Benedict Cumberbatch plays Vincent, a famous puppeteer and puppet maker. He is known for creating a children's television show, Good Day Sunshine. While brilliant at work, Vincent is different from his immediate family, which includes his wife, Cassie, and child, Edgar.
Before his child goes missing, an egoist named Vincent brings home his ego and toxic behavior from his work. However, after the child is gone, he finds his reality different from the actual reality. He hallucinates about Edgar's drawings, trying to blend the two realities—a sure sign of mental deterioration.
