The Netflix original series Resurrected Rides was released on the platform on July 24, 2024. The show revolves around the transformation and makeovers of cars with the cast joking around, roasting, and pranking each other.
Rick Hurvitz, the producer of MTV's 2004 show, Pimp My Ride, has created Resurrected Rides. He is also an executive of the show, and during an interview with Tudum, Rick said that they took the "spirit and knowledge" from the MTV show. He added that they paired this with a "hilarious host," new cast members, and the technology and culture of today.
Chris Redd is the host of Resurrected Rides and the show follows him and his team, who have seen the transformation of the cars. Redd, who has previously worked with Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents and Bust Down, adds a lot of hilarity, which makes the show an interesting watch.
The official synopsis of the show on Netflix reads:
“Chris and his talented team of car experts help a comic book-loving stunt performer turn his beat-up van into a vehicle he'll flip for."
Who is in the cast of Resurrected Rides?
1) Chris Redd
Chris Redd is the host of Netflix’s new motor makeover series. Chris explained in an interview with Tudum that the series has an iconic concept with some new twist.
“Plus, we got to roast, prank, and even ‘steal’ folks’ cars on a show budget! This show truly has it all!” he said in the interview.
Chris won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics in 2018 for co-writing the Saturday Night Live song Come Back, Barack. He is also known for his roles in Disjointed (2017–2018), Saturday Night Live (2017–2022), and Kenan (2021–2022).
2) Saul Valencia
Saul Valencia and his brother, Oscar, are responsible for modifying and redesigning the bodies of the cars and their interiors. They both are confident in what they do and in episode 1 of Resurrected Rides, they can be seen saying:
"Trucks, tuners, lifted cars, lowered cars, lowriders, exotics. You name it, we do it."
3) Oscar Valencia
Oscar Valencia is Saul's brother, and he helps with the interior modification of the car. Oscar and Saul run an auto service business named SOS Customz in Oceanside, California. There they repair, customize, and look into the performance maintenance of cars and motorcycles.
4) Shayna Guy
Shayna Guy is responsible for the painting of the cars in the series Resurrected Rides. She makes sure that cars look cool from the outside when they run on the roads.
Shayna is from Los Angeles and is a professional automotive painter. She is also an expert in airbrush and pinstriper painting. Even though Shayna does not like the whole painting process as much as she admits, the results of her work are what she enjoys.
5) Lacey Blair
Lacey Blair is the mechanic of cars in Resurrected Rides. She looks into the mechanical dysfunction of the vehicles. Lacey Blair owns a motor business called LB Motorsports. She builds big-size vehicles like big trucks, lifts, and lift kits with what she calls a “girly touch.”
6) Don Abenante
Don Abenante is responsible for assembling the cars and is the garage team’s fabricator. Don is also a close friend of another team member and cast member, Steven Nelson.
He is the one who looks into the design of the vehicle. Don openly mentions that he likes working and building wild vehicles. He has not just built cars or motorcycles but also boats, trucks, and whatnot.
7) Steven Nelson
Steven Nelson looks into the technical parts of the making of a car. He handles composites and gadgetry on the show. Stevens owns a business called Nelson’s Racing Design that looks into the designing and technical manufacturing of vehicles.

1) Rick Hurvitz
Rick Hurvitz is the creator and executive producer of Resurrected Rides. Rick has worked with several known networks and produced movies and series like CW’s Shedding for the Wedding (2011), Baywatch (2023), and HGTV’s Rent or Buy (2023).

2) Ari Shofet
Ari Shofet is one of the executive producers of the show Resurrected Rides. While explaining the show and the uniqueness it offers, Shofet in the interview with Tudum, said that
“This is an aspirational and wish-fulfillment show with a comedic lens, and we’re excited to give deserving folks a mind-blowing automotive makeover,” he added.
Ari Shofet is a senior producer at IMG Entertainments. He had produced Pimp My Ride (2004), Who is Brad Lenz?, and Crash Course (2009)
3) Brandon Killion
Brandon S. Killion is another executive producer of the show. Brandon is the CEO and executive producer of Bright Bay Creative. He has over 20 years of production experience and has worked with several production houses, including Gurney Productions and Cineflix Media Inc.
Brandon Killion is known for his work in Ice Road Truckers (2007), Swords: Life on the Line (2009), and Naked Vegas (2013).
4) Mike Odair
Mike Odair is also an executive producer of the show Resurrected Rides. He has been working with Netflix for the past three years in different roles.
He is working as an executive producer, creator, showrunner, and director at Netflix for content that is non-fictional, documentaries or game shows. Mike Odair is known for his work in Everyday Health (2011), Duck Dynasty (2012), and Making Fun (2022).
