Amanda Antoni was found dead by her better half Lee Antoni as shown in Unsolved Mysteries. Lee found her lying in a pool of blood in the basement of their house on Sunday, October 26, 2015. Lee was the first person to report the case. The mishap had happened while Lee was in Saskatchewan, the same weekend, away from his wife for the first time since their marriage.

Amanda had multiple bruises on her body as shown in Unsolved Mysteries episode two. The detectives first speculated that the assassin smashed her head with something and there were signs that pointed towards assault. There was no evidence found at the crime scene, however, her phone was on the ground and broken, a chair was tipped over, and a ceramic piggy bank was also found partially broken.

The crime scene was gory and there was blood everywhere. However, there was no murder weapon, no secondary DNA, footprint, or fingerprint whatsoever.

The detectives had Amanda’s husband Lee's sister and Lee on the suspect list. However, they were cleared as no evidence was found. Lee’s innocence was proven with the cam footage of various outstation gas stations where he was at the time of the murder. Lee’s sister was also removed from the list of suspects after no evidence was found against her.

After years of digging and no evidence, Amanda’s death was concluded as an accident. However, her family and friends do not believe it to be an accident and continue to look for answers in a case that is to date unsolved and currently inactive.

Amanda’s mother Linda on Unsolved Mysteries said,

"I don’t believe Amanda’s death was an accident. There is something not right…..”

What does the accident theory suggest?

The accident theory claims that Amanda tripped down the stairs, injured herself, and also broke her broken orbital bones which the autopsy confirmed. Falling down the stairs, she must have injured herself lethally and died because of extreme blood loss. She had dropped and broken her phone because of which she couldn’t reach out for help.

The autopsy report also showed that there was cannabis present in her system. Amanda could have injured herself while she was intoxicated, however, her husband claims that she took cannabis in small amounts to deal with her terrible headaches.

Although Amanda’s case remains inactive currently because no was evidence found, Detective Dave Sweet, Lead investigator of the Calgary Police Service gives the family of Amanda hope by saying -

“I don’t have all of the answers. And ultimately, the accident theory can never answer anything at the scene. A case like Amanda’s case is never closed ….”

Unsolved Mysteries is now streaming on Netflix.
