Are Troian Bellisario and Brandon Larracuente like their On Call characters? 

On Call gives a brand new meaning to the term 'fast-paced'. Join Harmon (Troian Bellisario) and Diaz (Brandon Larracuente) as they battle demons within and without as part of the Long Beach police department.

What makes the show very unique is the way it has been shot and presented to the world. On Call makes use of body cam, cellphone, and dash camera footage to add a sense of urgency. The show also portrays the toll that the pursuit of justice takes upon the world.

When veteran officer Traci Harmon (Troian Bellisario from Pretty Little Liars) is paired with optimistic newcomer Alex Diaz (Brandon Larracuente from The Good Doctor), the two embark on an emotional rollercoaster like none other.

Sportskeeda sat down with the leading cast of On Call to discuss how much they are like their on-screen characters. In an interesting twist, both Bellisario and Larracuente decided to praise their co-star rather than discuss themselves.

The On Call cast has the utmost respect for one another

Every time Harmon and Diaz are 'on call', a new situation pushes them over the edge. This is captured beautifully through the acting prowess of the lead actors. Which is why we had to ask them what they had in common with the characters they played.

Larracuente expressed his admiration for his co-star, applauding her work ethic:

"I kinda want to answer this one for Harmon. Like how I see similarities between Harmon and Troian is that they are both extremely hardworking. They have earned their way to where they are right now."

The On Call star went on to add why he chose to praise Bellisario, rather than discuss his own character:

"A lot of times, as an actor you look for similarities. But it’s always interesting as the actor playing opposite the person to say oh okay, I know Troian as a person and I see elements of her that she is bringing to this character, while also building elements that might be unfamiliar to her."

Larracuente had a first-row seat to an acting masterclass from Bellisario, who meticulously crafted the character of Harmon:

"So, it was really fascinating for me to watch her build this character each and every day and add little nuances that I noticed acting opposite and beside her."

Coming your way in January, On Call will be broadcast in 240 countries, exclusively on Prime Video. Veteran actor Troian Bellisario was flattered by Larracuente's comments and said the following about her co-star:

"Thank you. It was the same kinda watching you building Diaz. There is…god, he has an unbridled enthusiasm. And that mirrors your passion for how you approach things. I mean Brandon, you’ll never catch him…I would catch him sometimes sitting down and closing his eyes because it was absolutely necessary."

The On Call star spoke about the complexity of playing Alex Diaz that Larracuente, in her opinion, was able to tap into:

"It was one of those amazing moments where I was like – wow, I am so glad that he is taking that moment because I know he’s putting every ounce of energy into the scene. Into this moment. Into portraying Diaz as beautifully as possible. So complicated and so many layers. And it takes a lot out of you."
