Recap of Severance season 1

In season 1 of Severance, the unsettling world of Lumon Industries, a company that offers a controversial "severance" procedure, was introduced.

The medical process splits workers' work and personal memories into two separate identities, called "innie" and "outie." The "innie" is stuck at work and doesn't know what's going on in the world outside, but the "outie" doesn't know what's going on at work either.

Mark Scout, played by Adam Scott, was an employee in the story who was trying to deal with the problems that came with being cut off from his life. Mark was recently promoted to department head and was having a hard time with the mysterious disappearance of Petey, his friend and predecessor.

Mark's "innie" started to find out dark secrets about how Lumon worked with the help of Helly (Britt Lower) and other people. At the same time, his "outie" was dealing with grief over the death of his wife and a life that didn't have any meaning.

The season built suspense as Mark’s two personas began to intersect. The finale delivered a shocking twist: Mark discovered his wife, presumed dead, was alive and working within Lumon as Ms. Casey, a wellness counselor.

Severance season 2 will be available from January 17, 2025.
