After much anticipation, the first trailer for Daredevil: Born Again has been released online. Not only that, but the trailer also features many familiar faces that will surely get fans excited.

Daredevil: Born Again will not only be bringing back Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin, but the show will also be featuring the return of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle / The Punisher. Other returning characters also include the likes of Elden Henson's Foggy Nelson and Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page, while a brief glimpse at Wilson Bethel's Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye is seen too.

The trailer for Daredevil: Born Again also promises that the series will be bringing back the dark tone of the Netflix series alongside some brutal action. Fans will be able to tune in for the show when it exclusively releases on Disney+ on March 4, 2024.

Is Daredevil: Born Again a reboot?

Daredevil: Born Again won't be a full reboot, but rather it will be a soft one. The series will be canon with the Netflix Daredevil series that was canceled following the release of season 3 in 2018. The original plan for the show was to be a full-blown reboot starring a new cast while the events of the Netflix series would have been completely ignored; however, the show went through a bit of retooling.

In September, 2023, the show's production was put on hold as Marvel Studios decided the best course of action as they weren't satisfied with the development. They then let go of writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman and hired Dario Scarpadane, who had previously worked on The Punisher for Netflix. Directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead of Loki season 2 fame were brought on board as well.

Actor Vincent D'Onofrio also confirmed the connection with the Netflix series back in January, 2024, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

“During our restart of all the creative on Daredevil: Born Again, all the creatives got together and said, ‘Look, this is how we’ve got to do it now,’” he said.

He continued:

“So we are for sure only speaking about it in terms of being directly connected to the original Daredevil, and that’s a great thing. It brings in a lot of cool stories and all the collateral story that happened in those original three seasons.”

What is Daredevil: Born Again about?

In the first synopsis for the show shared by Disney, it was revealed that the show will focus on Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk being on a collision course with each other. The trailer also teases that Matt Murdock has stopped being Daredevil for an unknown reason. The official synopsis reads as follows:

"In Marvel Television’s “Daredevil: Born Again,” Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course."
