Euphoria is confirmed to return for its much-awaited season 3. Casey Bloys, the Chairman and CEO of HBO and Max Content, confirmed the same in an exclusive conversation with Variety. As per reports, the showrunners plan to release season 3 of Euphoria in 2025. The previous season premiered in 2022, and since then, one of the core cast members, Angus Cloud, known for playing the character Fezco, passed away tragically due to a drug overdose.

However, as per the recent conversation that Casey Bloys had regarding the show, season 3 will see the return of the "core cast." Euphoria came to be known for its ensemble cast, which included the likes of Zendaya as Ruby "Rue" Bennett, Jacob Elordi as Nathaniel "Nate" Jacobs, Hunter Schaefer as Jules Vaughn, Alexa Demie as Madeleine "Maddy" Perez, and Sydney Sweeney as Cassandra "Cassie" Howard, among others.

Since the premiere of season 2, some actors like Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi went on to feature in prominent feature film roles, making their return to the series seem unlikely due to schedule conflicts. However, the news about the return of the "core cast" is a delight for fans.

HBO CEO Casey Bloys confirms that Euphoria season 3 will feature a massive time jump

Casey Bloys sat for an exclusive conversation with Variety, discussing the plans regarding Max and the upcoming shows on the streaming service. During the conversation, he confirmed the return of Euphoria's "core cast" in season 3 and that there will be a massive time jump in the upcoming season.

The CEO of HBO and Max Content opened up about his discussion with the director of Euphoria, Sam Levinson, and how Levinson decided to take the story further ahead since the events of season 2. Casey Bloys said the following about the time jump:

"One of the issues I think that Sam is thinking about is that he doesn't want to have it in high school anymore,"

He further continued:

"That's where it was set and what made sense then. So when you take it out of that, there's a lot of back and forth about where to set it, and how far in the future to set it and all that stuff. But I think he's got a take that he's excited about, and he's busy writing."

Other reports also state that the upcoming season will be set as a noir film, exploring how the characters function in the real world and whether they keep their principles stable or not. It is suggested that season 3 of the series will also look at the plot from Rue's perspective.

The upcoming season will follow up on the events of Nate turning his father to the police over child pornography videos, a rekindling of the friendship between Rue and Lexi, and Cassie and Maddy (Alexa Demie) having a breakdown in their friendship.
