Amid the airing of Agatha All Along, another rumor regarding the Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has popped up online. The rumor, which was revealed by leaker Daniel Richtman (@DanielRPK) and reposted by the X account @Marvel_Updates_, states that Marvel Studios is developing a series based on finding the other son of Scarlet Witch, Tommy/Speed.
However, while Marvel Studios is currently set to dive deep into Scarlet Witch's story with her son Billy Kaplan in Agatha All Along, neither Kevin Feige nor Marvel Studios have openly confirmed or denied the rumor of such a series' development.
As is the rule of thumb with all these rumors, fans should take it with a grain of salt, unless it's officially been confirmed by Marvel Studios itself.
Who is Scarlet Witch's son Tommy in the comics?
In the comics, Thomas Shepherd, also known as Speed, was created by Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung and first appeared in Young Avengers #10 in February 2006. He is the son of Wanda Maximoff, or the Scarlet Witch, who created him and his twin brother Billy Kaplan by altering reality and claiming two lost souls. However, their souls were reclaimed by Mephisto.
Further, reclaiming them destroyed Mephisto, as the souls were transfigured by Wanda Maximoff's magic, and were then reborn in different bodies. Tommy was born in the Shepherd family and had a difficult childhood, as his parents divorced at an early age. When his powers manifested, Tommy accidentally vaporized his entire school.
He was then put into a highly secured facility and was experimented upon so that he could be turned into a weapon. However, Tommy was freed by the Young Avengers, when the group was looking for Hulkling after he was captured by the Kree Sentries. Tommy then helped the Young Avengers fight the incoming reinforcements and was given the name of Speed and joined the group too.
Aside from the comic books, Tommy has also previously appeared in WandaVision, where he was created due to his mom's reality-altering powers. He was also featured in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where he was part of an alternate reality.
Given that Tommy was taken out of reality in mainline MCU at the end of WandaVision, a potential storyline could involve him being brought back in the near future.
Agatha All Along will feature Wanda Maximoff's son Billy
It was recently leaked, thanks to Funko Pops, that Joe Locke's Teen in Agatha All Along is Billy Kaplan, aka Wiccan - the twin brother of Tommy and Scarlet Witch's other son. While his identity in the show is still being kept under wraps, the Funko Pop leak showcased him wearing the iconic Wiccan outfit from the comics.
Teen's personality in the show is also similar to that of Billy from the comics, and he is currently bewitched from saying his name. Given that the promos have hinted at his original comic book outfit and powers, fans can expect him to be revealed as the iconic Marvel superhero soon.
Fans can stream Agatha All Along on Disney+, with a new episode dropping every Wednesday.
