The View host, Ana Navarro, recently shared her opinion on the whole RFK Jr. and New York Magazine reporter Olivia Nuzzi drama and commented on their alleged “personal relationship.” Stating how she feels it was “unethical,” Anan Navarro called out RFK Jr. and said:
"It was unethical, and it, kind of, now puts all her writings in a different perspective. And they’re going through them with a fine tooth comb to see if they see any conflict of interest. That’s the issue that she was covering. The issue here is conflict of interest. That she was covering the presidential campaign while writing pieces.”
She continued:
"He’s had a long, long record of philandering for many decades. His wife knows it and seems to be okay with it. So, like, what are the consequences for him? The truth is, Olivia, who I also know and think is extremely talented, had a lot more to lose in this. And she is losing it. You know, the magazine right now is conducting a review and an investigation of the situation.”
For the unversed, the whole fiasco started after the news about Robert F. Kennedy Jr. AKA RFK Jr.’s alleged relationship with the New York Magazine journalist Olivia Nuzzi started making way on the internet. As per Entertainment Weekly, the alleged relationship between the two started late last year, however, it came to light only recently.
Entertainment Weekly also reported that a representative for RFK Jr. denied the speculation and claimed that he had met Olivia only once in his life. However, the journalist has now been placed on leave for the same, as the magazine stated that they are “conducting a more thorough third-party review.”
“It goes back to the sexism we fall into”: “The View” co-hosts’ statement explored as Alyssa Farah Griffin blamed “sexism” for the RFK Jr. scandal
As Ana Navarro shared her thoughts about the scandal, other hosts of The View also shared their opinions on the same. While Navarro claimed that Olivia will be in a tougher situation than RFK Jr., Alyssa Farah Griffin blamed “sexism” for the same, as she stated how every headline she reads mentions the journalist’s name, and not RFK’s. Griffin said:
"She’s considered a world-class journalist. She’s young, but she’s one of the best profile writers. That piece she wrote of RFK was scathing - she didn't pull punches. I agree it blurred ethical lines. I don’t agree with what she did. I think she will acknowledge it and take responsibility, but every time I see a headline that says ‘Olivia Nuzzi scandal,’ no RFK scandal. It goes back to the sexism we fall into."
While Griffin opined that “men need to bear a little more responsibility” in this matter, Sara Haines also showered her thoughts on the matter. She said:
"I get the optics problem. This was her beat and she did this."
As the RFK Jr. and Olivia Nuzzi matter blew up, the Fox Bangor reported that Nuzzi claimed that she was never involved with the politician “physically.” However, The New York Magazine issued a statement and claimed:
"Nuzzi acknowledged to the magazine’s editors that she had engaged in a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign while she was reporting on the campaign, a violation of the magazine’s standards around conflicts of interest and disclosures.”
Furthermore, many publications like the Daily Beast also reported that RFK bragged about having “intimate” photos of the reporter. While the politician and Olivia have shared their stance on the matter, several thoughts about the controversy, including those of The View hosts, continue to make headlines.
While many netizens seem to agree with the opinions of the hosts, others are constantly showering their own takes on the matter.
