Ali Wong opened up about her new romance with Bill Hader in Ali Wong: Single Lady, which premiered on Netflix on October 8, 2024. In the comedy special, she presented a hilarious take on her dating experience as a newly divorced woman in her 40s.
Following her separation from her husband Justin Hakuta in 2022, Wong didn't stay single for long. She reportedly got a call from Bill Hader, telling her that he wanted to date her as she was his ideal "dream girl." Bill won her over with a romantic gesture, which she mentioned in her comedy special:
“I did fall in love again. Some of you might know who the guy is. And it just so happens to be the man who sent me all of those flowers in Europe.”

Ali Wong and Bill Hader's romance began in 2022
Bill Hader made his move on the newly-single Ali by sending her several "bouquets of flowers" while she was visiting Europe. She received flower arrangements during her stops in Amsterdam and Cologne in Germany. During her final stop in Copenhagen, Wong was greeted with "six giant flower arrangements."
The pair first got together in the fall of 2022. After a brief split, the pair rekindled their romance and made their relationship official in April 2023.

Ali and Justin Hakuta, an entrepreneur, were married from 2014 to 2023. The couple welcomed two daughters together— Mari in November 2015 and Nikki in December 2017. After more than eight years together, the two announced their separation in April 2022.
The Paper Girls actress officially filed for divorce in December 2023, citing irreconcilable differences, and it was finalized in May 2024.
