As per the American Cancer Society, triple-positive breast cancer occurs due to the presence of estrogen, progesterone receptors, and high HER2 protein levels. It makes up about 10% of breast cancer cases and is considered aggressive because these proteins cause the cancer to spread quickly. However, it responds well to treatment, unlike triple-negative breast cancer, which is harder to treat.

This type of breast cancer is usually treated with either lumpectomy or mastectomy surgeries, depending upon the spread of the cancer cells. The treatment plan may also require radiation, chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, and medications to target the HER2 receptor.
