Agatha All Along star Kathryn Hahn bared it all in the premiere episode of the miniseries, which aired on Disney+ on September 18, 2024. In the episode titled Seekest Thou the Road, Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) wakes up in the suburb of Westview, stripped off all her personas from WandaVision. She steps out onto the streets completely n*ked trying to get answers.

The showrunner Jac Schaeffer described Agatha's momentary n*dity as "firmly based in character" and said the scene was "not exploitative" or "s*xual” in nature. She also gave the following statement to TVLine ahead of the show's premiere:

"...In this moment, she (Agatha) needs answers, and she doesn’t care if she’s naked or not. So, yeah, it’s a point of pride for us.”

What's going on with Agatha in Agatha All Along?

The fantasy series, Agatha All Along, picks up with Agatha still imprisoned in her Agnes persona from WandaVision. She 'wakes up' after a mysterious goth named Teen (Joe Locke) frees her from the spell cast by the Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) at the end of WandaVision.

Upon waking up, she storms outside buck n*ked and strikes up a conversation with her neighbor, Herb/John Collins (David Payton).

During their exchange, her neighbor hilariously tries to cover her up with a shirt, but she throws it aside before heading back to put on a robe and begin planning her next move.

The showrunner Jac Schaeffer explained that the script initially called for Agatha to put on a robe before heading out onto the street. But, Kathryn felt that her character would just step outside n*ked without thinking much of it.

Jac agreed with the thought process and pitched the idea to Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios. While he was not enthusiastic at first, he got on board soonafter.

Kathryn, who flashes her bare butt only for a few seconds, did not use a body double for the scene. Other parts of the scene were shot by placing cameras over hedges so as to strategically cover her n*ked body. Additionally, her long hair was carefully draped over her chest to cover her assets.

While speaking to Variety on September 19, 2024, Hahn confirmed the scene was her idea and further elaborated on her decision to bare it all by stating:

“I thought it was good to see her as stripped down, literally, as we possibly could, which spoke into her powerlessness at the present moment. (Agatha has) been stripped of all of her power at this point in the series. I mean, she really had nothing at that point, and so it became about illustrating that gap between that moment and her finding her power again.”

Moreover, the controversial scene marks the first time an actress has flashed her n*ked butt in a Marvel Studios project, since MCU's inception in 2008.

Before her, only Chris Hemsworth bared his bottom in the 2022 film, Thor: Love and Thunder.
