Julianna Margulies will not be reprising her role as Laura Peterson in season 4 of The Morning Show.

An exclusive report from Variety dated June 10, 2024, announced the change in the Apple TV+ show’s cast. According to the article, Julianna’s role was cut down significantly in season 4 and was reduced to a one-episode arc in the show's upcoming season. Reportedly, the actress turned down the offer to star in only one episode of the show’s next season. Furthermore, sources revealed that the showrunners approached her about the possibility of returning for a potential fifth season.

Julianna Margulies joined the Apple TV drama in season 2 as the love interest of Reese Witherspoon’s character, Bradley Jackson. The two played a couple throughout the show’s second season. But their relationship came to an end after Laura found out about Bradley’s brother’s involvement in the January 6 Capitol attacks at the beginning of the third season. Nevertheless, her story arc continued throughout the remainder of season 3.

The Good Wife actress made headlines late last year after appearing on an episode of The Back Room With Andy Ostroy podcast on November 21, 2023.

While discussing the Israel-Hamas war, she lambasted the LGBTQ+ and black communities for their perceived lack of support for Israel in the aftermath of the October 7 Hamas attacks. At one point, Julianna Margulies said that black people had been "brainwashed to hate Jews."

Her inflammatory comments were labeled as 'racist', 'Islamophobic', and 'transphobic' by critics. She later apologized for her comments.

The Oscar-winning actress Marion Cotillard was reported to appear in the fourth season of The Morning Show on June 5, 2024. The French actress will play a savvy operator named Celine Dumont, who hails from a storied European family, and her story arc will feature prominently throughout the season.

The show's ensemble cast features Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Jon Hamm, Mark Duplass, Billy Crudup, Karen Pittman, Néstor Carbonell, Nicole Beharie, and Greta Lee, among others.

Season 4 of The Morning Show is slated to release before the end of 2024.
