On Augues 10, 2024, Marvel Studios released the first look of Daredevil: Born Again at the Disney D23 Expo. The new Daredevil series was announced in 2022, but the name was not revealed initially. With the series slated to release in March 2025, the showrunners have confirmed an 18-episode first season.
Even though the series has just been announced, Marvel Studios is known to plan ahead of time. In an interview with Newsweek, actor Vincent D'Onofrio, who is playing Kingpin, revealed that the plans for the second season of the series is already set in motion.
The official summary for the season premiere of Daredevil: Born Again reads:
"Longtime rivals Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) try to leave behind their darker alter-egos to serve the people of New York, only to have their pasts catch up to them. In this first episode, we are reintroduced to the world of Daredevil."
Everything to know about the Daredevil: Born Again announcement
Marvel CEO Kevin Feige introduced Daredevil: Born Again at the Disney D23 Expo, and announced that the series will be released on Disney+, consisting of 18 episodes. A first-look trailer was also screened at the event, though this trailer has not been released officially via any of Marvel Studios or their associate social media pages.
Feige spoke to the audience about how Matt Murdock would return as Daredevil, played by Charlie Cox. The tagline of the series was "The devil's work is never done".
Though the trailer only included clips from the show, fans at the event picked out a serial killer storyline from the inferences. Daredevil and the character Kingpin were seen having a conversation over a dinner table, followed by the introduction of Punisher fighting with the protagonist. The series is reportedly slated to release in March 2025.
This is the newest major Marvel announcement after the San Diego Comic-Con and the introduction of two new Avengers films. Actor Robert Downey Jr was also reintroduced into the MCU at the event in the role of Doctor Doom.

Who will be the cast members of Daredevil: Born Again?
Though the full cast for Daredevil: Born Again has not been officially released yet, fans can expect to see some fan-favorite actors stepping into the roles on the Disney+ series. A few of the main cast members were present with Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige at the D23 Expo. They are:

The character of Matt Murdock appeared in the MCU Spider-Man: No Way Home as a brief cameo that was a surprise to fans. He gave Tom Holland's Peter Parker some legal advice on how to deal with his superhero persona at the beginning of the film.
Charlie Cox has also featured in the Netflix original Daredevil series and made additional cameos in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Echo. He will also voice the character in the upcoming animated Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
