Nina Dobrev and her longtime boyfriend Shaun White are finally engaged. The Olympian pulled off a surprise proposal for the Vampire Diaries star in New York City.

In a Vogue exclusive, published on October 30, White revealed that he thought of asking the actor to marry him several times, including during a summer vacation, but it didn't happen because she got injured after a dirt bike accident. He also thought of proposing in Cape Town when they visited the South African capital for the Earthshot Prize Ceremony. However, he didn't go through with the plan because he thought that Dobrev already had an idea that the proposal would happen there.

Finally, on a Friday night in October, Shaun White set up a fake dinner with Anna Wintour to cover up the proposal. He popped the question with a five-carat Lorraine Schwartz ring at the Golden Swan restaurant, and Dobrev said yes. They kept the news of the engagement to their inner circle for several days, with the actress taking off her ring anytime she left the house.

However, on October 30, she shared the news on social media shortly after the Vogue story of their engagement was published. In an Instagram post, the actor shared BTS photos from the engagement, where she was wearing a glittery little black dress from Chanel, and her soon-to-be husband was in an all-black Ralph Lauren suit. She kept the caption simple, writing:

"RIP boyfriend, hello fiancé."

Nina Dobrev, who became famous for playing Elena Gilbert in The Vampire Diaries, has a net worth of $11 million as per Celebrity Net Worth.
